"The Real Housewives of Atlanta's" resident "fashion designer," Sheree Whitfield, is smiling from ear-to-ear after making it to New York Fashion Week to debut her Spring 2010 She by Sheree line at a downtown location away from the tents.

The colorful capsule collection (she hopes to have a full roll-out sometime soon) featured plenty of skin-tight silhouettes -- including a leather color-block dress and a black lace, zip-front corset paired with an electric blue silk skirt -- a crotch-skimming banana yellow romper, a heavily ruched haltertop jumper and, our favorite, a chic three-quarter dress coat in champagne colored silk.

After her first ever New York presentation, StyleList caught up with the reality star/designer for an exclusive chat.

StyleList: What was your inspiration for Spring 2010?
Sheree: My inspiration was a calla lily. I love the calla lily because it's bold, it's sexy, it's strong. It's beautiful and it's still classy. It can stand in a full room by itself.

StyleList: Do you have a favorite piece from the line?
Sheree: I love the lace vest and the bustier with all of the embellishments and the gown. For jewelry I'm doing a collaboration this season. I can't say with who yet.

StyleList: How does showing at Fashion Week in New York compare to having a show in Atlanta?
Sheree: There's absolutely no comparison. Being in New York for Fashion Week is like the ultimate. This is the fashion capital of the world so for me to be able to preview my line here, I feel like I'm on cloud 9. I need to go home and pinch myself, you know what I'm saying? Of course, my ultimate goal is to come back in February during the shows and do a full out presentation on the runway.

StyleList: How does your collection compare to Lisa's "Closet Freak" collection?
Sheree: Yeah, right ... [laughs]. It doesn't compare. I wish her well and wish her all the best, but it doesn't compare.

I am truly a believer in Colo Detox ( http://cli.gs/ColoDetox ) I started taking it mid-April and on the 5th of May I had lost almost 10lbs. I watch this show for a good laugh. All that money and nobody can get along, its always a cat fight going on. As far as Sheree's line of cloths for god sake what is that mess of a "box dress". I do believe that Lisa will do much better with her line.

This crap looks like it was sewn by a third grader. This is just a 1960's model's coat. Nothing new here-it's just hacked up copies of vintage Dior & Valentino. Absolutely no quality material or craftsmanship as well.

First I would like to say congratulations to u Ms. Sheree because being a participant, competitor and designer in New York's Fashion week extravaganza is an honor and a priviledge and as a fellow black woman it makes me proud that there is one more of us out there to represent in a field that has not quite fully embraced us infront and behind the scenes. I am am artist, a designer and a mom and I envy u because u were able to follow your dream and complete. your goal. I would love to chat about how you did it and hopefully you would inturn educate me on how i could achieve what you have in the world of fashion. Do not let the hating society get to you lady. We can not please everyone but we can always get better. Since in the fashion biz u mus keep a tough skin, let it be snake. Snake skin endures the abuse it gets from slithering on the ground and still manages to stay true and beautiful. That's how u gotta be.
