DESIGNER: Betsey Johnson

THEME:
Prom night gone punk

TOP LOOKS:
Blue leopard print sequin dress; brown and white giraffe print pantsuit; black catsuit with sequin leopard print bolero

TOP ACCESSORIES: Tulle, tulle and more tulle! Faux corsages, suspenders, mohawks, corset belts, metallic platform sandals.

WHO WAS THERE:
The band Ida Maria played to the throngs as the models on stage gyrated in Betsey's spring designs. Teeny-bopper types in tutus and junior editors swilled champers from mini pink bottles and grazed on bon-bons and petit fours, while Don Johnson (huh?) observed from the sidelines.

WHAT WE THOUGHT:
You can always count on Betsey to put the wild and wacky back into Fashion Week and her party-as-presentation at the Plaza didn't disappoint. Though we felt a little like we were part of the interactive off-Broadway production "Awesome 80s Prom," we left wishing we would have had the guts to wear the over-the-top glam punk dresses to one of our school dances.
