Beyoncé Facing Abercrombie & Fitch Lawsuit Over Sasha Fierce Scent

First the whole Kanye/VMA fiasco, which she rebounded from just fine with the announcement of her first fragrance, but now that doesn't seem to be going too smoothly either.
Abercrombie & Fitch filed a lawsuit in a Columbus, Ohio court yesterday to preempt the songstress from launching a fragrance under the name of her alter ego, "Sasha Fierce," reports WWD.
The complaint says Abercrombie began selling its own scent, "Fierce," in 2002 and had the name trademarked in 2003, according to the source.
Knowles filed a letter-of-intent application with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in September 2008 for the Sasha Fierce mark in the fragrance category. Abercrombie alleges that it sent a cease-and-desist letter to Knowles after learning of her intent, adds the source.
Coty responded by saying: "We can confirm at this time...that the terms Fierce and Sasha Fierce are not being used as names of a Beyonce fragrance," reports WWD.

TO PHIL: Okay I understand that you want them to sue her but you don't have to call her a Negro. The progression in the country is coming to a hault because of obnixious people like you that are ignornant to the things that they say. Maybe you should think about the content of your language before you go a dispurse on issues that have nothing to do with you. The english dictionary has over 1 million words in it and you choose to pick an obnixious word like that. It really reflects poorly on your character.

She doesn't need to use a name ANYTHING like what they use because I would rather smell my dog's butt than that Fierce crap that they FORCE on every poor schlub that is unfortunate enough to walk by their crappy store.....idiots!

A&F suing a rich celebrity? Who's surprised? 1) they need publicity because no one is buying their overpriced crap, and 2) they probably NEED the money (see #1). Not enough rich frat-boy rapists are putting $70 t-shirts on their daddy's credit card nowdays - this is all A&F has got!

LOL, rather than sue her, they should try and join with her to sell her fragrance in their stores. They could use the boost from her popularity because they are not doing so well these days. I'm no fan of A&F and this is just ANOTHER reason why I don't like them. Go, team Beyoncé!

Wow!!! Phil if you could spell you would be a dangerous person:) Anyway..... I agree with Bebe....I always thought that A/F didn't really appeal to african americans .....so they (A/F) should use this as an opportunity to maybe create a line of clothing to be worn with Mrs. Knowles's fragrance and be able to bridge the gap and eventually help boost sales :)

What's it matter if A&F doesn't appeal to african americans? Now why would they go and change their whole style just to appeal to african americans? it would not be Abercrombie & Fitch then if they changed it. There are just certain styles out there, u don't see me complaining about DTLR only appealing to african americans. Thats like me sayin they should be more like abercrombie and fitch, and sayin maybe they should appeal to more caucasians. You're comment just makes no sense.

Beyonce showed character when she had Taylor Swift to come back up and finish her accepatance speech when she was interrupted at the awards. Calling her that name was not nice ,rude and inconsiderate. She is a good singer , a great dancer and I have not heard anything really bad about her. That guy that said that would probably love to see her come by his house. Everyone has faults though but still she has always seem to be a classy lady from everything that I have seen and heard.

@ A&F Team- In this economy that is slowly bouncing back...it matters a great deal!!! What i find amazing is that they would find someone such as yourself to respond to us. Truly amazing that you can not see the ignorance in your statement.

@A&F Team- Your comment alone is an example to why minorities not just people of color should not purchase anything and maybe consider boycotting your stores. I've been to many of A/F stores and even worked P/T during the holidays at one mall that had an A?F store and with all honesty ...I never ...ever was in a situation to see that they were just overflowing with patrons....so you tell me ...why it matters .....get some statistics and maybe you can respond to me :)
