Jean Paul Gaultier to Design Collection for Target? Fingers Crosssed!

Word is Parisian designer Jean Paul Gaultier is partnering up with Target in the next installment of its Designer Collaboration series, according to WWD.
This special collaboration takes well-established designers and asks them to use a muse to inspire a capsule collection.
While Gualtier's people declined to comment and Target is staying relatively mum ("We don't have anything to share other than we admire his work and incredible design aesthetic," a Target spokesman told WWD), sources tell the paper that the Gaultier collaboration is indeed happening.
This news comes on the heels of Anna Sui's "Gossip Girl"-themed collection for the mass-market retailer and, before that, Alexander McQueen created the very rock 'n' roll McQ Alexander McQueen for Target line, using The Duke Spirit singer Leila Moss as his inspiration.
Each of the Designer Collaboration collections is sold in select locations (and on target.com) for a limited time (around four months).
But before we get our hopes up for Gaultier's couture-inspired cheap chic (with lots of his signature sailor stripes, we're sure!), we must remember that less than a month ago, there was another rumor floating around that Liberty of London was doing a Target collab.
Honestly, Target, would both of these be too much to ask? We think not.
What other designers would you like to see at Target? Leave a comment below.

First off....the people who continue to bombard the boards with stupid advertising and crap needs to go away. Seriously AOL needs to filter this crap......Now back on topic, Target is really coming up in the world. I remember a time when if you bought your clothes from Target it meant that you were dirt poor. I love the fact that stores like Target and Payless are stepping up their game and are becoming major competitors to the department stores. Well done Target.

I also hope it will be competition for the department store, and it's overpriced clothing. But, I fear it will be more of the same, clothing designed for skinny chicks with no hips or
t^&%$. Sigh!

Oh, I miss Isaac Mizrahi! I would like to see him return, loved his clothes for Target. The fully lined jackets and pants were reasonably priced (probably a little more than Target's usual however) but well made and fit so well!
I was disappointed in his parting shot to Target. He said: "No more fast fashion!" I hope he at least left on good terms....
I'll keep hoping someday, maybe, but won't hold my breath.
As far as anyone else, I can't think of anyone in particular, but just would like to see someone who would design for the Misses sizes, (as Mizrahi did) rather than Junior, as Gaulthier probably will.

Please, carry womens' petite clothing sizes!!!!! It is becoming difficult to find petite sizes and there are still many of us that need them. We also do not need the huge prints!

At 5 10 there are not many off the rack clothes either. I feel for petites, at least a tailor can take down clothes...but can't add! It is ludacris for tall women to have to order from catalogs and not be able to try things on.
I see what is on the sale rack at the stores...sizes 2-6 hello? get with it retailers!

Okay ladies, Target may be "mum" about this whole thing, but I'll let the cat out of the bag. It IS going to happen...I work there and we're already getting info on it. Ooops....did I slip and say something? Who? Whaa? Hmm?
