INSPIRATION: Sweet and sophisticated with an edgy twist
TOP LOOKS: Origami-inspired ruffles on jackets, skirts, and shorts; silk racerback jersey dresses wrapped with thin metal chains; circular geometric prints faded into sheer, gauzy fabric, sweet tanks and bubble skirts
ACCESSORIES: Sheer, silver sequined tights; silver platform pumps; thin layers of metal wire necklaces by ken and dana design, steel grey handbags with metal studs by doo.ri for Be & D
WHO WAS THERE: The after work rush of New York's elite and young aspiring fashionistas in skintight bedazzled mini-dresses and little black booties
WHAT WE THOUGHT: Doo-ri Chung offered up a delicate (but not too precious) collection that was tight and well-edited (not surprising see as how it was styled by Anne Christensen of The New York Times).
Gray glass prints created a watercolor-esque quality was a nice alternative to some of the more saturated hues that we've seen on the runway. Dresses wrapped in delicate chains maintained their femininity without appearing bondage-like and the designer's signature origami-like detailing was well represented in sculpted floral embroidery.
