DESIGNER: Richard Chai LOVE

INSPIRATION:
Menswear and Uniforms

TOP LOOKS: Plaid shorts-suit (which opened the show); photo-printed dresses with minimal Victorian ruffles; bottle-green anorak and slouchy quilted shorts; heavily embellished tulle vest and tank-mixed in with Chai's signature boyfriend-style separates

ACCESSORIES: Alexandre Birman for Richard Chai slouch bootie-wedges with thong toe-in mushroom brown and black

WHO WAS THERE:
Fellow designer Phillip Lim, Karolina Kurkova

WHAT WE THOUGHT: The show marked the debut of Chai's contemporary-priced line, Richard Chai LOVE, "for the girls who has fallen in love with my guy." The designer hit all the right notes, clarifying his brand of downtown-girl-casual, and making it accessible to more of us. Every major retailer in town was checking out the perfectly slouched basics. Besides the pretty printed dresses, it was all menswear all the time-which suits his girl just fine.
