Style Evolution of Carla Bruni

Bruni wears a simple black 3/4 sleeve dress to the 64th General Assembly at the U.N. Thanks to her stellar figure (and low-key accessories like a shiny belt and ballet flats), she makes it dressing up look easy.

Spain, April 27, 2009
Bruni-Sarkozy met Princess Letizia of Spain. The European first ladies dressed up for a gala dinner at the Zarzuela Palace outside Madrid. Bruni went for classic, Audrey Hepburn-esque glamour in a black backless dress, while the Princess donned a dress befitting of her title - an eggshell blue satin gown with a glittering train.

This week marks Bruni-Sarkozy's inaugural visit to the U.S. as First Lady of France. Since marrying French President Nicolas Sarkozy in February after a whirlwind romance, Madame Sarkozy has charmed diplomats, heads of state and even the notoriously critical French public.

Madame Bruni-Sarkozy (in a purple Christian Dior suit) looks a bit shocked at a Bastille Day ceremony in July. Earlier that week, the singer/songwriter did the seemingly impossible and startled French sensibilities with her new album, on which she sings "You are my junk. More deadly than Afghan heroin. More dangerous than Colombian white (powder)," adding: "My guy, I roll him up and smoke him."

On the same album Bruni-Sarkozy sings that "I am a child/ Despite my 40 years/ Despite my 30 lovers/ A child," which must have been a great conversation starter when she and her husband welcomed Pope Benedict XVI and a contingent of priests from the Vatican in early September.

Earlier this summer, Bruni-Sarkozy played hostess to another religious leader. The Dalai Lama showed the retired super model the proper way to wear a Tibetan prayer shawl.

Now THAT'S what I'm talking about!! Tall, slim and beautifully dressed--what a First Lady SHOULD be!! It's too bad our fat pig of a FLOTUS didn't take some notes from Carla! If Michelle would drop about 80 pounds and get out of her size 18's we'd have a FLOTUS with style instead of a flat chested giant-assed bow-legged media joke.

Working as an esthetician women have always asked what they can do about their wrinkles and how to keep looking young. I always recommend just one skincare product, I tell them about Beauty Lift http://BeautyLift.notlong.com and how it contains the most potent, doctor grade wrinkle erasing serum that revitalizes the skin and reduces signs of aging. It's much better, safer, and less expensive than Botox. They always come back to tell me how great it is and how much younger they look. It’s a great product and I back it up 100%.

I have always been very afraid of aging, you know, becoming old and useless and unattractive. When I turned 50, I decided to do something about it. I've spent fortunes on face creams and anti-aging serums… but using GenFX is the first time I've tried turning back the clock from the inside out. It's also the last time I'll spend a fortune on face creams! Now everyone says I look 35!

Right on Barbie! Wouldn't add a thing to the truths you wrote.

Your comments on WHAT a first lady SHOULD look like and your outrageous comments about Michelle Obama are despicable. It's comments like that hurt girls'/women's perception of self worth and self esteem. Shame on you.
Luci 9-27-2009 @ 9:56AM
I didn't hear you calling First Lady Barbara Bush a "fat cow" and she was 3 times the size of Mrs. Obama. Hello?
Gayle 9-27-2009 @ 10:42AM
Limobarbie, You are one hateful b*tch and so is the other one who agreed with you. For one thing, the only reason the both of you are in agreement is because first lady bruni is a white woman. This woman has nothing on Michelle O and the same goes the other way. They are both attractive women in their own unique way. And first lady Michelle is NOT a size 18! No way near it.
Why don't you post a photo of yourself so that I can compare you to both Lady Bruni and Lady Michelle!! I bet you wouldn't be able to hold a candle to either one of these women.

I agree totally. Carla looks fabulous. Michelle looks like a gorilla in clothes.. and the media is trying to make the masses think that Michelle is beautiful and a style icon.
stillwill2 9-27-2009 @ 1:54PM
yeah, "that's what i'm talking 'bout- white!" she looks quite brautiful, obviously a takeoff on the great jackie kennedy. however, she has nothing on mochelle o. other than she's not of color.

limobarbie - sometimes "outrageous" = the truth. keep on telling it as it is. MO IS A FAT PIG, and Sarkozy IS what a first lady should look like.

And no one LOSES wars to Third World countries like America. You would have lost World War II if it wasn't for Russia saving your ass. Your history books tell fairy tales. Ask someone who was actually there.
dan 9-27-2009 @ 6:38AM
Dan's ranting,
When you see links directing you to see naked celeb pics, they will take over your computer and drop in a virus etc. What is their motive? Other than just being idiots and anti capitalists. Seems to be the trend. They can get on a boat and go spread their wealth or food stamps. Those who want to spread the wealth are those that don't have any or don't ever see themselves amounting to anything. With the exception of those that are pushing this cause from the top to please their corrupt friends they have promised change along their way to the top.
And the school children sing, mmm, mmm, mmm

Says some bitch named limobarbie? Granted, this woman is beautiful, but there's no reason to trash on Michelle Obama like that. I don't particularly like her fashion choices all the time, but she's not a "fat pig." Good job on making yourself look like an asshat. Methinks you are jealous, dear. You & Dan are the real pigs here. ^_^

Many of her outfits look like those of Jackie Kennedy. However, if you are going to copy someone, Jackie Kennedy would be the one to emulate ! Love the purple two piece suit !

Sorry, but I can't see where the First Lady has fashion sense.
Out of all the shots, there is probably a total of less than 5 things, that I thought looked classy.
I loved the red suit by Kors, and the classic black dress, that was used for her official portrait were the best.
I wouldn't say Michelle is fat, but she is a tall, large woman, and some of her decisions regarding her wardrobe are not flattering to the way she is built IMO.

The first Lady of France has a lot of respect for the office her husband holds and dresses the part. Yes, we Americans have a woman who is disrespectable to the spot which she holds for four years. Most of us are ashame of the way she dresses and her knowledge of how she should act around the queen of England. and around the the world. What a nut we have.
