Crocs is Saved! Not That Mario Batali Was Ever Worried

First, the footwear brand appeared to be in serious financial trouble when its stock price plummeted. Then, the plastic clogs were declared a fashion no-no for Yom Kippur.
But, alas, brightly-colored plastic shoe lovers can rejoice -- Crocs has secured a $30 million revolving loan with PNC Financial Services Group, as reported by Reuters.
The company's chief financial officer, Russ Hammer, tells the site that this loan will provide the company with the cushion it needs to bounce back from the downturn.
And since you can't mention Crocs -- certainly not orange ones -- without thinking of chef extraordinaire Mario Batali, we were beyond curious to know what the perma-Crocs wearer had to say.
Batali told StyleList, "Their sheer comfort will always overrule fashionistas, religious fanatics and banking doomsayers. Crocs is here to stay."
Looks like the recession is turning a corner. Check out other fashion companies that are on the uptick.

I love my crocs! I'm on my feet all day and they are the most comfortable shoes I've ever had. I've worn them all over the U.S. and Canada, and only give them up when the snow falls. People who scorn them are shoe elitists, and prefer fashion over comfort. I have four pairs and match them with every outfit!

I agree they are ridiculously ugly shoes. But my goodness they are soooo comfortable! My feet actually sigh when I put them on ~ lol!

Nothing good about that news. Crocs deserved to die; need to die. Only women and short (5'4" or less) fat guys who can't tie their shoes wear these shower sandals. Worst thing ever. Evidence of death of culture and American society. Worse than rap and hip hop. Only thing worse than crocs is Country music. Sartre's no exit modern version. I'm trapped in a room with a country singer wearing crocs for eternity.

I am not under 5'4" or a fat guy. I am a paraplegic who gave up wearing shoes when I became pregnant with my son almost 16 yrs ago. I gave up shoes beause they hurt my feet. I have been wearing crocs for almost 2 years now. It is nice to have something to cover my feet that doesn't cause me immense pain.Viva Crocs!

Hello...not 5'4", never worried about tying my shoes (because I'm either in high heels or crocs), never wore a pair of shower shoes, rarely have listened to country, am a complete professional...5'6", 120 lbs. (never been called fat), in an upper management position, am often a local celebrity model in shows for charity and give I back to the community...always. My wish for small minded and insulting people such as you would be to indeed be trapped in a tiny room for all of eternity wearing crocs and singing country...all by yourself. In the future...you probably shouldn't be so quick to judge.

I love my crocs, that is all I wear. I am diabetic and suffer from neuropathy (nerve damage in my feet and legs) Crocs are a god sent.

Bill................... Lots of people wear Crocs, why do people have to be so gosh darned mean all the time? Ever see the bumper stickers that say MEAN PEOPLE SUCK .....well, I agree! Mean people, do suck! Crocs are very very comfortable for people who are on the their feet a lot or have foot pain. Has NOTHING to do with being overweight, or being short for that matter. To each his own Bill ....to each his own. Don't be such a hater ........

Hoo-ray .. Thank you PNC Financial Services,Inc. for the loan. I was just after the hubby about getting me a few pairs after I found whom still carried them ... I am so pleased to see this news ...rushing down to buy a few pairs asap.
Crocs are the best thing ever for the fabulous relief they give to the feet and legs. I wear mine 24/7..I only wish now you can maybe make the soles a tad thicker .. I wear so often they become something like a slick tire.
Maybe some improvement there .. and keep the price as same.

Many teachers at my school are devoted to Crocs! Can't be beat for comfort! That's why some of us won't be without them. Some of us prefer comfort to faux-fashion. We don't need podiatrists and we don't need to carry two pairs of shoes - one to actually walk in and one pair to impress other losers at the office. We walk happy and comfortable - do you? If you are an individual and not a slave to fashion, you might want to try a pair.

I love my Crocs. I don't have the standard clog but I do have about 7 pairs of the sandals. They truly are the most comfortable shoe out there.. and for all those that say they are ugly.. the sandals are quite stylish. I'm a Croc Lover!

VIVA CROCS!!! I own 8 pair for myself, hubby has 3 pair, my kids each have 3 pair.Great day-off shoes, great work shoes, school shoes....my feet never hurt in them!

got my first pair last week......ugly as homemade sin but they sure are comfortable. bought some cheap knock offs from walmart and there is no comparison. I agree, viva crocs!!!

This article completely ruined my day. As much as I don't want to see anyone lose their job, they should have just let them die. If you need comfort, there are very stylish alternatives, don't be cheap, spend some money on a good pair of shoes. I'm in retail operations, and I work well over 70hrs a week, in dress shoes, with no problem. I cringe every time I see some fashion deprived idiot walk into one of my stores wearing those things. They remind me of something a clown would wear!

Have you been to the crocs website recently??? I recently got a pair of shoes there that don't look anything like the crocs you see in the stores, and are just as comfy! I even wear them to church! Trust me, when you are 8 months pregnant, as I am, heels are a no no yet you still want to look nice. I wear my croc flip flops almost every day, and I LOVE them!
