How To Make An Entrance With All Eyes On You - Beauty BLab
Purple Lab is all about glam, sexy, confidence. Read: A Dita, Beyonce, Bridget Bardot sandwich.
Which is why we tapped Veronica Varlow for a sexy burlesque class to celebrate our shade of Huge Lips Skinny Hips called Love Your Thighs, which is all about self esteem, feeling empowered and enjoying your body.
The juicy part - we learned how to make an all-eyes-on-you entrance. Here's how:
Whenever you go anywhere - a restaurant, a bar, a party - stand at the door for a good 30 seconds. You see, when someone walks in a room, it's everyone's natural inclination to look to the door. So if you stand there for a moment, give a pause, and slowly - ever so slowly - remove your coat/jacket/scarf, you'll get more eyeballs.
Said Varlow, "everyone will wonder who you are."
Now the walk... step with an exaggerated hip. Step right and right hip out. Left step, left hip. The feet kind of cross over each other, criss-crossing.

During the lesson there was practice and laughter, a bit of self consciousness but we soon got over it with Veronica's encouragement.
And that's when the boas came out.
There is something about putting on a big, fluffy boa that brought out a side of ourselves - our inner kittens and starlets - we couldn't help but feel high from.
"Play with the boa as you walk," cooed Veronica. "Slowly take it off by pulling it off your neck from one side and as it drops on the floor, watch it with your eyes." Real life translation: Do this with any scarf in the winter.
And then there were the gloves. We learned the art of pulling them off, finger by finger with our teeth. And then we perfected Veronica's signature move: bend down and slip one finger of the glove under the back of your heel and then slowly, seductively stand, letting the glove slip off.
Hot, hot, hot!
Attendees included blogger friends from Fashionstylebeauty, Kraseybeauty, ThebeautyChick, LusciousLifeStyleDiva, and Aly Walanksy of eBeautyDaily - among others - and we took over the sultriest space in New York - The Gates. Total private, card holding members only lounge with appropriately lavish purple sofas and a wood burning fire place (lit for the occasion). Fun fact: Before it was The Gates, it was a trendy restaurant but before it was a restaurant, it was a gay S&M club!
Only caveat with the boa, I must say, is the mess it leaves on the floor. They shed. But I used my newfound skills to vacuum in style - and Lanvin!

the plus size models are not really plus size. Get real plus size women to pose.
Purple is absolutely beautiful. I will try it the next time I go out as well as the simulation strip.
Fun articles thanks
