Isaac Mizrahi's New Shop - Just Don't Call It a Store

Located at 23 East 67th Street in New York City's Upper East Side, the 1,500-square-foot shop is really an extension of the designer's work studio in Midtown.
The space is bright white, sparsely furnished and decorated with Mizrahi's own sketches, while a small amount of his products are tastefully placed throughout.
Suffice to say this is not a stack-'em-high-and-let-them-fly kind of retail environment. It feels more like a trip to a favorite (wealthy) relative's walk-in closet.
And behind a curtain, a more private, posh area overlooks a courtyard -- perfect for Mizrahi's clients who make use of his made-to-order services that make up much of the designer's business.
After all this time, Mizrahi finally committed to opening his own shop because, well, a psychic told him to.
"The psychic said, 'Darling, you must go out there and be proactive. I see a shop...'" he told WWD. We see dollar signs.
