Can't use this on black hair as spraying spritz and using lotions only make it frizz-up and difficult to come through. I invite you to use my hair to make this work on me!

Would be nice to have some tips that don't take as long as going to a salon... would be nice to be able to straighten or whatever without using a ton of products and time...

I agree! Her hair isn't frizzy or thick either!

DO YOU THINK WE HAVE TIME TO DO ALL OF THAT?
And that girl's hair is not thick, frizzy, or tangled!
AOL is the worst when it comes to black hair.

My best friend is black, and the InStyler works wonders on her hair! Check out this video I found where it is used on very frizzy hair:

First, when straightening curly hair, it's ok to section it but you have to dry the top/front first. If it starts to dry, even a little while in the clip, the dents will be there until it's washed again. Second, the article is directed toward doing this yourself, at home. Those directions look like someone else is doing it.

I think you really need a good hair tool in order to get really poofy hair straight. I used to spend an hour blow drying my hair straight, and then I spent an hour hot ironing it. Now, it only takes me 15 minutes or less to straighten my hair. Check out the straightener I use here:
