Dr. Audrey Kunin, the dermatologist behind the popular skincare line and website DermaDoctor has opened her first retail store in her hometown of Kansas City, MO.

Stocked with Kunin's line, DermaDoctor, along with an assortment of other high quality skincare brands featured on the website, the flagship store will focus on everything skincare related. The staff includes specially-trained estheticians to help customers find the right skincare products, and the store features a "skin genius" area where people can get detailed information - a la Apple Stores - on skincare conditions and treatments.

Besides being a skincare entrepreneur, Kunin is also an editoral darling, constantly quoted in magazine and online interviews. We caught up with her for some cold weather skincare advice, and the skinny on her favorite new products.

StyleList: What product are you most excited about right now?
Dr. Kunin:
Med e Tate has been our incredible hit of the year! The ability to control excessive sweating (or even nuisance perspiration concerns) anywhere on the body in a novel approach has been a tremendous success.

StyleList: How should people alter their skincare routines as they move into cooler weather?
Dr. Kunin: Cool, dry months require skincare products with a more emollient base. This helps reduce the rate of dehydration. Also, by reestablishing the pH balance it will help reduce the likelihood of skin getting sensitive or irritated in cold, dry weather. (editor's note: that means switch to hydrating, creamy products in the winter!)

StyleList: What's the biggest skincare mistake you see people making over and over?
Dr. Kunin:
Not wearing their sunscreen. If everyone wore broad spectrum SPF 30 every day, many of their skin complaints such as blotchy skin discoloration, fine lines and skin cancer would be alleviated.

Thanks, Dr. Kunin! KC peeps can check out her new store at 1901 McGee, in the Crossroads district in downtown Kansas City.
