Barbie's Ankles Too Fat for Louboutins

"Does this suit make my ankles look fat?" Never, Barbie! Photo: Mattel
Christian Louboutin thinks Ken's better half is carrying some extra padding in her ankles.
Louboutin -- the latest fashion designer to give the plastic icon a makeover (others have included Diane von Furstenberg, Anna Sui and Givenchy) -- has revamped three Barbies from "top to toe," reports WWD.
"They're completely wild and even come with mini Louboutin boxes for the shoes," a Louboutin spokeswoman told the paper.
And apparently he's spending a little extra time retooling her plastic cankles (or is it "Bankles?"). "He found her ankles were too fat," the Louboutin spokeswoman told WWD.
We asked fashion stylist and fashion director of NYLON magazine, J. Errico how he'd style our favorite doll to help reduce the appearance of her so-called problem area.
"If Barbie wants to divert attention away from her ankles, she should avoid booties or anything with ankle straps," he says. "However, any girl -- plastic or not -- would be mad not to take advice from Mr. Louboutin."
We wonder if Mattel would agree.

I was lucky enough to never have been overweight in my life. That all ended after the birth of my second child. I got down to 20 pounds over my normal weight but no matter what I did I couldn't lose the rest. I didn't know if was age catching up with me or if somehow my metabolism changed. Whatever the reason, nothing was working. I tried all the bogus "diet" pills that we see all over the internet, but are just scams. All I ever lost with that stuff was money. One of my friends, knowing what I was going through, told me that she had been losing weight using a special plan http://bit.ly/FatLoss4You It laid out the facts in a way I never saw before and had easy to follow meal plans and diets. Not only have I lost the weight and kept it off but I'm leading a healthier lifestyle, mostly from the knowledge I gained from this amazing program.

This is nonsense.. we have too many children that are either overweight or have issues with their weight in US. This is a harmful message to send out... as well as just nuts!
Why not have more dolls that replicate healthy habits. Have dolls with cool workout clothing and water bottles.. I was an obese child and want to keep my kids active (away from constant tv watching and video games) and have them develop healthy eating habits.
I was heavy and had health issues associated with my weight (high blood pressure, high cholesterol). I had tried every diet on the planet and was miserable. After struggling over the years to lose weight and keep it off, I finally found what worked for me. I avoid diet foods, diet soda and processed food and keep it simple and never let myself feel deprived.
I eat a high fiber diet based on whole grains, flax, veggies, fruit and lean protein and drink water (with a lemon wedge)...and allow myself "treats" in human size portions all the time I find if I am full I am less likely to pig out and make foolish food choices. My favorite high fiber food is flax. I have fitflax http://www.fitflax.com every morning in greek yogurt. FitFlax is a golden roasted flax and chia seeds blend that is low carb/low cal and FILLING. I have my power breakfast, and I am full, have tons of energy and am able to make better food choices the rest of the day. Fitflax tastes nutty (kinda like peanut butter) and I sometimes just eat straight from the bag. It does not need to be ground so it is convenient.
I love what I am eating and am a curvy, in shape size 8 that is healthy with no desire to be skinny. I just wish the media would show more gorgeous woman that are healthy and in shape 8's-14's and instead of making a zero the ideal and fixing dolls ankles! And I would love for my daughters not to have the weight issues that I have.

ANOTHER set of whack jobs!
Barbie's ankles are too thick! What about your thick heads? If Barbie's original proportions were reproduced in a real human the first thing that woman would do is fall over. With even thinner ankles I think she would most likely need assistance to stand and walk, and NEVER be able to run ---- like AWAY from the mad scientists of the 21st Century, the fashion designers.
Unfortunately, I actually saw something on TV about a woman who had cosmetic surgery to "fix" her "cankles". As long as we keep buying it, ladies, they will continue selling it. ENOUGH! Crazy and stupid.

It's only a doll - if you think your body image probelms are caused by it, you have other issues.

Who is this guy anyway? Do we really need to worry about the opinions of someone most people have never heard of? This appears to be another non-issue for most ordinary people.
