For the first challenge of the Bluefly / StyleList America's Most Stylish Blogger contest, we received a tailored navy boyfriend vest. I was thrilled to get this piece because it's totally my style but also unlike anything I already own.

With the fabulous vest as my muse, I toyed with various outfit ideas including an office look and a dressy evening ensemble. The combination that really felt right was a casual weekend look. Simultaneously fierce and feminine, my get-up features denim leggings for a sleek silhouette and complete comfort, the boyfriend vest and ankle-wrap sandals to add some edge and a ruffly blouse, leopard-print belt and printed silk scarf to keep it sweet and girly. The no-fuss slicked-back ponytail is ideal for a lazy Saturday but also enhances the urban mood of the look.

A definite bonus of this outfit is how effortlessly it transitions from day to night. Swap out the sandals for some serious stilettos and the scarf for a bejeweled statement necklace, and you go from running errands to ruling the dance floor!
