Another call to shop? Oh, alright, twist our arms.

Fashion's Night Out will be back next year, New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Vogue, the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) and NYC & Company (the city's marketing, tourism and partnerships organization) have announced.

Hot on the Louboutin-adorned heels of the first Fashion's Night Out, held Sept. 10, we can now mark our calendar's for Sept. 9, 2010 when the global shopping initiative will return.

More than 800 stores and thousands of shoppers participated in this year's shopping extravaganza -- aimed at supporting the fashion and retail industries.

The response resulted in a 50 percent increase in foot traffic across New York's five boroughs, according to an independent study conducted by ShopperTrak."The numbers are in, and it's clear that Fashion's Night Out was a tremendous success," Bloomberg said in a release. "Thousands of New Yorkers attended the events in all five boroughs, supporting the city's retail and fashion industries and helping a worthwhile cause. It's sure to be an even bigger event in 2010."

Vogue editor Anna Wintour said organizers were bowled over by the response to this year's event.

"It was only 15 minutes after the event began and we were getting reports about lines around the block at stores throughout the city," she said. "It was wonderful to see people embrace this initiative, and we are thrilled that they wish it to return."

Plans are also reportedly in the works for future Fashion's Night Out events in London, Paris, Milan, Berlin, Madrid, Moscow, Athens, Taipei, Tokyo, Beijing, Sao Paolo and New Delhi.

"To have designers in stores to celebrate and start a shopping season is the best idea for everybody," said designer Diane von Furstenberg. "It creates excitement and lots of business."
