Big and small, chiffon and taffeta, hair bows of all shapes and sizes made a recurring appearance on the
Spring 2010 fashion runways.
Worn pinned along the sides of the hair like a middle school girl at
Diane Von Furstenberg, wrapped around the head like a perfect present at
Jason Wu and tied around a side ponytail at
Milly, bows were a beauty headliner.
Not since the 1980s have hair bows been this stylish. And the trend seems to be channeling the decade, too. Over the top and oversized (think
Madonna during her
Like a Virgin days), as well as smaller ones worn two and three at a time (after all, it was the decade of excess) were the most notable styles parading down the runway.
Fabrics were equally extreme, with taffeta, chiffon and patent leather among the most decorative.
According to the pros, to look less
Material Girl and more modern-day, size and placement matter. "The bows on the runway were mostly oversized and eccentric, but for the every day woman, bows that are smaller and understated are more realistic," notes celebrity stylist
Michael Boychuck.
As for placement, adds Boychuck, gather a small section of the hair on one side and secure it with a single bow.

Madonna called and said she wants her bows back. Extra large and extra colorful, bows at the Marc by Marc Jacobs show channeled the Material Girl during her early days.

It was back to the 80s at Milly with big black bows adorning side ponytails.

The bows at Diane Von Furstenberg had a sexy innocence-part schoolgirl, part siren.

At the Jason Wu show, layered bows wrapped hair like a perfect present.

At Betsey Johnson, the overly ornate hair bows looked like that of a Vegas show girl.

At the Louis Vuitton show, baby bows looked like lost little butterflies in the giant Afro wigs.

Models at Luella looked like modern-day Pebbles Flintstone, only with a bow instead of a bone.

Classic ribbons tied around the head at Cynthia Steffe gave off a silver spoon vibe.

AREN'T THESE GIRLS UNATTRACTIVE ENOUGH WITHOUT MAKING THEM THEM MORE SO? THEY ALWAYS LOOK LIKE THEY ARE SMELLING SOMETHING VERY BAD OR JUST PLAIN NASTY.

Why do models always look like they're so pissed off or angry? Getting paid to wear silly costumes should make them smile. BTW, has anyone ever seen someone wear some of the stuff they showroom?

So when is big hair coming back? lol Seriously, I hate todays look of the flat hair pressed against your head with a crooked part going down the middle. I'd rather see the Farrah Fawcett (sp?) look come back!

Laugh all you want to but I personally can't wait! lol, really. I also hate the flat look..I would rather the smaller sized bows, the bangs we used to curl (remember that) or the Farrah..the only one I don't think I could do anymore is the "mall hair" look..you know, the huge hair that was teased and sprayed with about 2 cans of Aqua Net? yeah, we did that when we went to concerts..the smaller bows are cute, though..don't judge it by these styles. Nobody wore it like this.

Bows look cute on some women, but the model in the picture looks hideous. Did someone say, "Halloween costume."?

Has any of you looked around and seen any fashion in the USA...on regular people?
none-existant...sloppy....boring....frumpy....Now you are coming with a clownish look and bow's? are you kidding me? most of the USA population still lives in the 80'ees with stretch pant's......so they will fit right in......frozen in time.

OMG Hahaha Just Because It's On The Runway Does Not Mean It's New, Gonna Happen, Or In. And For One, There Are THOUSANDS Of Girls Who Already Wear Bows And Who Have BEEN Wearing Them For Years, And When I Say Years, I Mean Years. Such As Myself And Im 18. But Honestly I HIGHLY Doubt We Will Be Seeing 30 And 40 Year Old Women Walking Around With Big Bows In Their Hair!! And Ugh Gosh Some Of You People Are So...BRAINWASHED. Dude SERIOUSLY, If You Want To Do Something THEN DO IT!! Like Come On, It's Your Life, You Only Have One!! If You Want To Do Your Hair Like You Used To, Then GO FOR IT. I Wear My Hair HUGE ALL THE TIME And Some People Like It Some Don't. CORRECTION, MOST People ADORE It. I Dress How I Want And I Do My Makeup And Hair How I Want. And You Know What, I've NEVER Felt Prettier!! And On Top Of That Im Happy And Get A Million Compliments All The Time :D
Ok, So My Point?
1. Runway Models DO NOT Make The Trends, The Youth Of Today Does!!
2. Just Because People Say It's "In" Does Not Actually Mean Do It
3. Look And Feel The Way YOU WANT TO!! Don't Be So Damn Brainwashed, Live Your Own Life!!
Also So None Of You Are Like "Oh I Bet Shes A Liar Blah Blah Blah"
Check My Pictures For Yourself!!

So now that a bunch of malnourished models wear them, we all will look good in them? WoW! People that buy into this crap deserve to look clowns of the color spectrum

When are women going to stop letting those little snobby, pre-pubescent boy loving gay boys on fifth aveneue stop dictating what they wear? Ugh. Those are hideous. As were most of the fashion trends of the 80's.
