Isaac Mizrahi is hoping his fans won't cross party lines.

"I feel that a designer brand is almost like a political party. If you believe in them and you like the way they do something, you like the way they do everything," Mizrahi mused to StyleList.

"I sort of like all of Barack Obama's policies, I would probably have a really good time with him at dinner and I'd probably love Michelle and the kids. You know what I mean?"

And this designer is betting on consumers sharing his sentiment, particularly when it comes to the launch of his Isaac Mizrahi Live! collection for QVC, which debuts Dec. 4. Let's hope Mizrahi is right on this one, because he is making everything under the sun -- from coats to cheesecake -- for this collection.

"Clothes, accessories, housewares, bedding, towels and table top, food, eventually kitchen implements, mixing bowls and mixers and appliances," he rattled off.

But his favorite pieces feature a member of his family. "I did paintings of my dog's head and then I did a set of dessert plates featuring Harry's heads. It's pretty off-beat."

Mizrahi, who has never met a celebrity he didn't like, counted quite a few stars at his launch party Wednesday evening at a studio in NYC.

Actress Paz de la Huerta was with Michael Urie of "Ugly Betty," Mary-Louise Parker, "Entourage's" Alexis Dziena, Anne Heche, Mira Sorvino and "Gossip Girl's" Kelly Rutherford were all there, decked out in Isaac's designer duds.

"I've been a fan of Isaac for a long time," Rutherford told StyleList. "Now it's affordable for everyone on QVC, thank God."

Designers Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen were also there to support their friend. And no, their publicist confirmed, the women do not have a project in the works with QVC. But one can hope, right?

In the meantime, we'll have to settle for this classic brand's collaboration with the multimedia retailer.
