Celebrity Hair Hits and Misses
Fergie oversaturated her hair in what appears to be shine serum, creating an oil slick instead of a sleek shine. It also made her hair color look darker. According to the pros, one drop is all you need to add luster to extra long locks.
TIP: If you overdose on your favorite styling product and don't have time to rewash your hair, try applying dry shampoo. It instantly absorbs excess oil and product build-up so hair looks freshly shampooed.

This A-list actress gets an A-plus for hair. At the 2008 CMA Awards, Reese Witherspoon gave her classic bob a simple lift. "She added body and texture without looking overdone," says celebrity stylist Gina Bertolotti.
To get the look: apply a volumizer directly to the roots of damp hair and rough dry with a blow dryer. Set the hair with Velcro rollers and let sit for five minutes. Remove the rollers, flip head upside down and blast hair with a shot of cool air from the blow dryer. Using a large barrel curling iron, add a few curls for enhanced softness. Finish with hairspray.

At the premiere of Australia, Nicole Kidman had a very bad hair day. Her loose chignon and two-toned hair color looked dated and added years to her usually stunning appearance.

It was America the beautiful at the 2009 Screen Actors Guild Awards. Her sleek, side-swept ponytail was a red carpet head turner and the perfect complement to her strapless gown.
To get the look: If you have curly or textured hair, Bertolotti recommends applying a straightening balm to control frizz and ensure the hair stays smooth. Once applied, blow dry the hair straight, then use a two-inch barrel curling iron to flip the ends. Smooth on a drop of shine serum to tame flyaways and boost shine, then part the hair slightly off center and pull it back into a low ponytail.

It looks like Ashlee Simpson may be the only star whose hair stylist isn't on speed dial. While her cut is definitely cool, she's in desperate need of a trim. Her extra long bangs and stringy strands are hardly star quality.

Jessica Biel was the mane attraction at an awards show in Beverly Hills. Her perfectly tousled locks looked effortlessly stylish. "It's such a versatile look," says Bertolotti. "You can wear this style to a formal event or with a pair of jeans."
To get the look: Apply hair gel to damp hair and blow dry. "Hair gel creates a great base when adding curls," says Bertolotti. Working with two-inch sections, spray the hair with hairspray, curl with a small barrel curling iron (about one inch), and spray with hairspray again. The hairspray is essential to help hold the curl, adds Bertolotti. When finished, gently shake the head to loosen the curl and hairspray for additional hold.

At a gala in Washington, DC, Jennifer Lopez's elaborate updo looked like that of an 80s prom queen way too contrived. Had it been a little less labored and set further back on the head, she would have looked more modern, yet still glamorous enough for such a formal occasion.

Drew Barrymore took volume to a new and unflattering level. At the 2009 Golden Globe awards her hair looked ready for lift off, which made her face look tiny. A little less body (and flyaways) would have kept her hair and face in better proportion.

Who else but Jennifer Aniston can pull off a French braid at an Oscar party? The star looked stunning in a simple, yet elegant style. "This look is a great way to keep your hair out of your face while still wearing it down," says Bertolloti. Plus, it works on the red carpet or a dinner out.
To get the look: Apply a wave enhancing spray to damp hair and allow to air dry for a naturally tousled effect. (You can also use a diffuser to create the same look in less time.) Grab a one-inch section of hair from the top front of the head that measure temple to temple. Apply a drop of styling cream to the section to control flyaways and hold the hair together while braiding. To French braid, pull small sections of hair from the face frame in and secure. If you can't French braid, Bertolotti says a regular braid secured to the head with bobby pins will create a similar effect.

It seems Sandra Bullock's hair stylist forgot to secure a few strands. Her hair looked messy and undone, not to mention a bit frizzy, at the All About Steve premiere.

Where do they get the idea that Kate Beckinsales hair looks good? I think it's a mess. It's definitely a MISS! It looks sloppy like it needs a comb job. I also don't think Drews hair looks that bad. Just a little overdone but very similiar to Reeses hair. Sandras hair looks positively terrible. With all her money you would think she could look better.

Lets knock off phony looks--too much hair is an example of hair in general occupying too much of grooming. Cut the damn stuff off and shape whats left! Both women and mens' hair is a pain in the butt when long, and wasting money on stylists and drug-store products is just plain stupid! If you're not decent looking without much hair, letting it grow sure doesn't help any, and glamour mags bear that out. Fussing and pushing and grooming and fussing with hair is bad enough for women, but guys letting "fashion experts" tell them to let it grow and tease it just that way are really dropping the ball!. Best guy look there ever was and ever will be is a WW two German soldier-(brush-cut) look.

Drew's hair is a bit "out there" but still looks good!
Sandra needs to find a hair stylist who will work with her hair and not against it! She's usually tailored and great looking but this hair style is just ugly!

Can i just say sumthing? i love coming onto websites and little critic blogs just to see how much of a life critics dont have. Does it really matter if a celebrity has big hair or bad fingernails or whatever? You people are ridiculous. These stars make way more money per year than you do. Making fun of a choice in clothing or hair style just proves that you have no life. Do something useful and actually contribute to society. Hell, pick up some trash, its a way better job than being a critic and it actually makes a difference. So with that i say get a life to all critics and just think, when you die and get to the gates of heaven, you will be judged much harder than your celebrity victims.

Well andrew if you fel that strongly about criticism why do you bother reading the blog? Everyone is entitled to voice their opinion. If this blog is distasteful to you why do you bother to comment on it? Why should peoples opinions bother you so much? If you ask me you're the one who needs to get a life. I think it just amazes us that those movie stars that are making booko bucks can look so shabby considering all the money they have. I wouldn't go out of the house looking bad like they do because they are always on display wherever they go and the way you look when you're on display does a lot to your image. Also it shows what you think of your self worth. Some people who comment on these blogs just like to argue, put up a fuss and put people down. There are some blogs I don't bother with because I don't have anything constructive to say other than putting down those who do comment on them. And they must not be very productive themselves or they wouldn't waste their time doing that. Get the message?
