We have to admit we were surprised when Lauren Conrad's debut novel "L.A. Candy" hit number one on The New York Times Best Sellers List.

Okay, considering the "The Hills" frenzy we weren't that surprised, and now Conrad is out to prove she's a fashion writer, too.

LC has just signed on again with HarperCollins Children's Books (who also published "L.A. Candy" and her follow-up novel "Sweet Little Lies," which comes out on Feb. 2) for a new style tome simply titled, "Lauren Conrad Style."

Set to hit shelves in fall 2010, the book will include info on how Conrad achieves her relaxed, SoCal style and feature never-before-seen photos throughout.

On her upcoming project, Conrad says, "I am really excited to write a style guide. I think fashion should be fun and reflective of who you are. When you wear clothes you feel good in, it shows in everything you do."

Considering the the book is being put out under the children's arm of the publisher, we're guessing it will veer towards the tween set.

Conrad may no longer be part of "The Hills," but the reality show is charging full-speed ahead with the usual girly drama.
