Caudalie's new fancy-schmancy face cream Premier Cru makes a lot of bold claims -- decreased wrinkles, fewer sun spots, increased hydration and (most intriguing) a visible increase in collagen production after 10 days.

So of course I had to have it. What interested me the most was the ingredient resveratrol, which was called out by a Harvard Medical School study to be the best anti-aging molecule out there today. Caudalie was the first brand to patent it for topical use. Sign me up!

I got a jump start at the new-ish Caudalie Vinothérapie Spa at NYC's iconic The Plaza Hotel and indulged in the beyond-blissful Premier Cru Facial. If you're ever in New York City, I can't recommend it enough -- for nearly two hours the esthetician steamed, creamed and massaged my face into ageless perfection.

Seriously, I can honestly say that my skin has never looked more luminous.

Since then I've been trying to extend the facial's results by using the cream every night. It's been about three weeks and maybe it's just my wishful thinking but my skin seems plumper and softer. Spots can take months to diminish so it's too soon to tell if it's working in that capacity, but I have high hopes.

I was worried that the cream would be too rich for my chronically clogged pores, but, incredibly, I have no zits. This could possibly be the first anti-aging cream that hasn't made me break out (and I've tried a bazillion).

The texture of the cream is incredible -- it sinks right in, there's no greasy feeling and it smells like a combo of oak barrels and roses, both of which are found at Caudalie's French vineyards. I know it sounds kind of weird but trust me, it smells really, really good.

At $150 a bottle it's a bit pricey, but you only need one pump for your whole face so a little goes a long way.

There are lots of exciting things going on in skincare right now -- also check out Elizabeth Arden's new Prevage serum with age-defying idebenone.
