Katie Holmes first captured our hearts in "Dawson's Creek" as a young, fresh-faced star. But as soon as she met Tom Cruise, she abandoned her girly, youthful look, chopped off her hair, and started dressing kind of, well, matronly.
Now, that's not to say we don't understand; It can't be easy juggling movie roles, her role as a mom, and globe-trotting from movie sets to premieres at a moment's notice.
Still, we couldn't help but feel a bit disappointed every time
Holmes was photographed in an unflattering pantsuit (shown here, right) or big, shapeless sweater.
Thankfully, at a Hollywood event this weekend, Katie turned it out on the red carpet (shown here, left). The star looked young again in a black mini dress, criss-cross black heels, and a gray leather jacket.
Her hair was pulled back, seemingly self-styled, but it worked -- we were sick of seeing those stiff, unforgiving
Posh-like hairstyles anyway.

you, Katie Holmes, for this Thanksgiving style moment. We hope you've thrown the mom pants away for good and enjoy your youth while it lasts!

What do the editors find wrong with "mom" jeans and flat shoes? Last time I looked, moms were starting at around 16 years old and even mature ones looked pretty darn good in "their" jeans! Furthermore, i think most people would agree that stilletto heels have out-lived their usefulness in trying to make females look sexier. Even formally, an otherwise nicely dressed woman can look super sharp in low shoes, and don't have to worry about tripping or walking carefully.Katie Holmes is pretty enough to wear anything, and dressing casually ought to be her prerogative, not some annoying, camera-toting jerk!

Sorry, but the shoes look horrible. Not sexy heels at all. And women look awful with muscle legs. They don't look sexy at all. She looks average if anything. Not sexy by any means.

This article is insulting to mothers and women everywhere! Katie looks beautiful in her "mom" pants as do other women. (I personally do not consider flowing, silky pants as "mom pants" anyhow)....either way, women do not have to dress like sex objects or show skin to be attractive and youthful looking.

I agree. I always thought Katie represented herself well and modest, especially she was newly married and a mom. Her hairstyles and pantsuits looked just great on her. She certainly doesn't need to flaunt her body, it's no ones business anyway. And you can tell she has a great figure in her pantsuits anyway, not everyone can wear them, And she seems to compliment just about anything she wears.

after the New World Order takes over,most people will get to wear their choice of three jumpsuits...pale orange,pale green,or light blue...also you can wear two or three different hair styles...Shaved head or very short for men...or the same or pony tail for women

I liked katie in her "boyfriend jeans" and cute short hair. she looked great and i bet her hair was no fuss ... as for legs, I've seen sexier ones in short skirts, but she still rocks it!

Forget about what Katie Holmes is dressed in. And yes, her hair isn't what it used to be. Can someone explain to me how her child can have a million dollar wardrode yet whenever you see her in magazines, her hair is hanging in her eyes and she's a mess. This is when she's dressed in her satin shoes and fancy dress. Katie, please fix your daughter's hair. It looks neglected and has since she's been a toddler! Buy some clips, barretts, bows, or whatever but please get it out of her eyes. What a shame to have such a beautiful child and in photo shoots, this poor child is always holding her hair back or looks like she can't see @ all.
