Rihanna may be a style chameleon, but this pop star isn't going back to her good girl image anytime soon.

For the January cover of GQ, the chart-topping Barbados native poses topless in just a pair of Balmain leather shorts.

Adding to the sexpot appeal, the cover girl sports tousled bed-head, minimal makeup and accessorizes with earrings by Andrea Liberman for Mouawad, a simple Jason's Jewelry and Diamonds cross necklace and a double-stranded Betsey Johnson heart necklace, though the baubles don't offer much in the way of coverage.

The editorial spread, shot by Michael Thompson, is just as steamy -- RiRi rocks a skimpy Stella McCartney bra and panty set and a cropped Maison Martin Margiela sweater. (Is under-boob the new cleavage?)

In the multi-page interview with Lisa DePaulo, aptly titled "Good Girl Gone Badass," Rihanna talks candidly about her relationship with Chris Brown.

Eight months after the now infamous night, the singer opens up about the incident, explaining that it's the best way for her to move on.

"Initially. I would say the first...the first seventy-two hours after I realized, it hit. The entire thing was kind of a daze. I was confused," the singer told GQ.

"The physical pain comes and it goes. The bruises fade away. But the thing that stays with you is the emotional scars."

Rihanna says she used her music to get through the ordeal and is now in a better place with the support of good friends like Jay-Z.

Meanwhile, Rihanna has budded into quite the style icon with her fashion-forward look, but is quick to admit she admires Michelle Obama's sartorial flair.

"I love her. She's so fly."
