Kate Gosselin has new hair, new extensions, new bangs and an entirely new look for the new year.
Out with the old choppy "reverse mullet" haircut, which got a lot of play in the past year. Every blog and weekly mag dissected it, moms across America copied it (shudder!), and it even turned up as a must-have Halloween wig.
Now Kate has popped up on the cover of People suddenly sporting long hair, courtesy of the Hollywood magic known as hair extensions.
According to People, "What Not To Wear" super-stylist Ted Gibson spent nearly 20 hours (!!) adding hair extensions to Kate's short spikes.
"Bonding extensions to those little hairs really took time," Gibson told People. And he cut the thick chunk of chin-length hair into bangs!
We think Kate looks five years younger with her looser, less contrived look. Later, frumpy mom 'do!
For those out there looking to freshen up their look for the new decade (C'mon --those angled bobs look so tired!), hair extensions are a great way to help with the awkward transition phase.
Professional extensions -- like the ones done at Ted Gibson Salon -- are pricey, but well-executed ones can last a few months.
Clip-ons are a lower cost alternative and the quality has come a long way in the past decade. HairDo extensions by Ken Paves and Jessica Simpson are easy and affordable. Slightly more expensive (because they're real human hair) are the Hair U Wear by Raquel Welch extensions. And Gibson sells his own 3 Piece Clip In Extensions, which we've seen in action and can vouch are amazing!

How can ANY ONE seriously say this is good hair? I thought it was a bad photoshop joke like where they merge the faces of two different celebs, because she clearly had two haircuts at once going on here. THIS IS AWFUL

I can't stand this self-absorbed, selfish 'mother'------hasn't everyone had enough
of this child abuser, talentless, nothing ??

I don't like her new hairdo. It looks like my 16 year olds style, and everybody elses out there. Her short style IS her style/trademark. My hair is very short, has grown out, and as a joke to some friends have been styling my own hair like hers. I've gotten quite a few people that like it, and yes the bitchy hair suits me, as well as her! Loved the show but glad it's off. I can't imagine Kate with a Talk Show-it'd just be her yaking!

Kate's hair looks "GREAT", she looks much younger and more attractive, and happier. It's time for a change - GO FOR IT.........

Good for her! We all like to have changes with our hair styles, she looks great! It's wonderful for the kids to see Mom make efforts to adapt to their new life and the new hair style is a small item even if the media makes a big deal out of it!

It's a balancing act to be a loving, committed Mother, to even one child, and find time and space just for you. But I can't imagine what the Gosselin kids have gotten of parenting in the last year from either of these immature, spotlight-guzzling people. And 20 hours for a new hairdo? Nauseating.
