Apparently birds of a feather don't flock together.

Liz Carey, ex-wife of Oasis drummer Alan White and founder of Bird handbags, has filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against Juicy Couture for its upscale Bird line, reports Fashion Week Daily.

Carey, a former model, launched an accessories line in 2006 named "Bird" after what guys in London call girls -- as in "birds" rather than "chicks."

Since then the designer has gained a small but coveted following which includes A-list actresses Michelle Williams and Kate Hudson. Her deigns currently sells at high-end destinations such as Bergdorf Goodman, Henri Bendel and Revolve Clothing's Forward site.

But when Juicy Couture's Pamela Skaist-Levy and Gela Nash-Taylor launched their own Bird clothing collection in August 2009, the small accessories line had its feathers more than ruffled.

"My first choice, of course, in any situation, is to resolve this amicably," Carey told the site. "We've approached Liz Claiborne, who owns Juicy Couture, and so far I have no indication that they want to resolve this any time soon."

Carey has since filed suit in court, but is dubious about the outcome.

"They obviously have an entirely different budget than I do," she told FWD. "I don't know how the girls exactly came up with the name, but it's disheartening, and I'm shocked that a company of that stature would try and out muscle a small boutique."

This isn't the only legal drama JC's parent company Liz Claiborne is facing. The fashion heavy hitter is also in hot water across the pond.
