DESIGNER: Michael Kors

INSPIRATION: American sportswear for the city and country

TOP LOOKS: Luxurious fur coats in shredded silver fox; exaggerated cowl neck cashmere sweaters and column dresses; a metallic tweed blazer paired with a crushed flannel pant; a gunmetal jersey dress; the closer, a black paillette jersey gown sliced ever-so-subtly at the hip

ACCESSORIES: Speckled gold messenger bags; over sized fox fur clutches

WHO WAS THERE: Laura Linney, Michael Douglas, Donald and Melania Trump, Molly Sims, Russell Simmons

WHAT WE THOUGHT: Michael Kors is the go-to designer for the jet-set. For Fall, he focused on the city slicker with a country estate. Kors was on track from the opening look - model Abbey Lee in an enormous coyote vest and stretch cashmere body suit. Chesterfield coats with cut outs at the elbows, suede trousers, and mohair pullovers followed as did an unapologetic amount of fur, including super sized shredded silver fox coats and hoods and a blond sable shift. If the Kors woman wants to throw a lavish dinner party or pop out to the opera--and we know that she will--the designer has a few suggestions, such as a stellar sparkling gunmetal-colored jersey dress with cut-outs around the shoulders and a longer version with an unobtrusive peek-a-boo slit at the hip.
