Izzy Lane for Topshop: Sustainable Style

HuffPost Social Reading

Topshop is getting back on board the collaboration train but this time, they're making an effort to be a little bit more eco-friendly. The mega, fast-fashion store announced on Monday that they've teamed up with Izzy Lane on a capsule collection of ethically produced wool coats that'll be available in three different styles. The debut of Izzy Lane for Topshop will coincide with the store's brand new Chicago outpost opening in September and though the prices are unusually high due to the incredibly fine quality of the wool (the coats cost between $400 and $510), we'd venture to guess that they'll sell out fast - especially since only 150 of each piece will be made.

U.K. native Isobel Davies started Izzy Lane in 2006 in order to create a cruelty-free knitwear line. The wool that Davies uses comes from her own flock of rescued sheep that she personally cares for on her own farm. All of her clothes, including the three Topshop coats, have no real fur or leather incorporated into designs to keep with their ethical stance against animal cruelty.

Izzy Lane already shows at London Fashion Week, but we're sure that after this Topshop match-up, we'll be seeing much more of this consciously chic clothing on our side of the pond.
