STRANGEBEAUTIFUL'S Questionable Nail Polish Shade: Weird Beauty

RISD grad and genius behind nail brand STRANGEBEAUTIFUL, Jane Schub, has launched her fifth collection of nail polishes.

Inspired by the "spectral banks of the Hudson River estuary," Schub's Volume V Library of Color is an eccentric blend of highly-saturated and haunting shades. The 10-piece nail polish set uses some interesting names like "A Worn Black Bible" and "Gradation of Bruise," but the moniker "Menstral Last Day" had us scratching our heads. It's not exactly the most conventional of phrases, nor does it have us running out to try the rich burgundy hue. But maybe we're just a little uptight?

What about you? Would you dress up your fingertips in this nail color?

Tell us your thoughts in the comments section and see which hot young actress hit the red carpet flashing fiance nail art.

Definitely weird names. Why not? In this day and age, you've gotta come up with something unusual to get peoples attention. Can't say much for the colors though. Looks more like a line up for military comaflage paints.

(a) the colors are hideous and unflattering; (b) the names are pretentious; (c) did the company really spell the color "menstral" or did the "journalist" spell it that way -- because the correct spelling is "menstrual." I deduct points for spelling and ignorance.

Oh thank you for this article, which by the way I did not read or look at other than the headline. I consider this such a newsworthy article my day could not survive without it.

I LOVE these colors! Seriously, some people need to grow up! Ever heard of the cosmetic line Urban Decay, who are completely cruelty free and have many, many Vegan cosmetics (and are working on any thing that is not Vegan to become that as long as quality is not compromised.) Wander on over to their site and have a rant. It'll just bring more publicity.
I, for one, really think these are great Autumn/Winter shades but the problem I have is with the price, I'd have to buy the previous Season's color line release somewhere. But seriously! These are some very awesome colors from a unique Artist. I Truly wonder how thousands of people manage to get through their daily lives when things like this "weird" them out, like I have said- Grow Up. Thanks. Sincerely!

INTERESTING names for some VERY, VERY DARK COLORS that most people just will not wear!! I realize that when you wear a nail polish that the "name" of the color is not broadcast from a blinking sign above your head, BUT.... "A WORN BLACK BIBLE".... (dark grey black????) "GRADUATION OF A BRUISE" (pretty color, bad name) AND "MENSTRAL LAST DAY!!!!" Especially the last two are pretty disgusting names!! I personally have a bruise the size of a grapefruit on my leg at this moment and would certainly NOT want the disgusting WRITTEN color of a hematoma (BLOOD TRAUMA UNDER THE SKIN) on my nails! And "MENSTRAL LAST DAY" well certainly EVERY WOMAN wants to wear that nasty, dark black red on her nails to flaunt her feminity!!! NOT!!!!
