On Tuesday, East Coasters got a pretty big surprise that really shook everyone up — literally. An earthquake occurred in several cities, including New York and Washington D.C. and now, we're preparing for the next natural disaster to transpire this weekend.

Hurricane Irene is currently barreling through Florida and is rapidly approaching the Big Apple and surrounding areas. While we do plan to take some precautions during the massive storm, we aren't too afraid that it's going to hit armageddon status.

If you're one to think on the bright side like us, you won't let a little rain and wind ruin your weekend either. In case you want to actually leave home come Saturday or Sunday, we've got the must-have survival items to help you weather the storm in style.

Please tell me this article is a joke. Not only should 'style' be the last of your concerns about weathering a hurricane, you obviously did zero research (which isn't too difficult).

Barreling through Florida, huh? When did that happen?

Not too worried? Is that why there's a mandatory evacuation of NYC for the first time in history?

Did anyone actually read and approve this article before it was posted? Nice work.
