Carmen Kass: Style Evolution

HuffPost Social Reading

Since beginning her modeling career in 1999 (she was handpicked by Anna Wintour), Carmen Kass has become one of the fashion industry's leading ladies on the catwalk. She's modeled in every major runway show from Marc Jacobs to Donna Karan, and has appeared in ad campaigns for everyone, from Michael Kors, to Gap, to Revlon and Christian Dior. The Estonian beauty's look spans the line between bodacious supermodels and the young, waif-like faces we see so often today. She is, in the best sense of the phrase, a natural beauty who's modeling abilities are as versatile as they are compelling.

Carmen turns 33 today and to celebrate her birthday, we're taking a look back at some of her most poignant fashion moments throughout a long, lithe and successful career. Check out the gallery below to see how well this model has worked the camera from past to present.

Men absolutely hate that "Thin" look... They prefer an enormous liability that constantly badgers them... Good call.

Still too skinny for her age, a few pounds won't stop her from modeling but she would look like a woman, not a teenager
10:12 AM on 09/14/2011
Since she is older for a model, and being that skinny makes her look not as womanly it kinda plays on her side a little. Hopefully when she retires she'll eat more.
