Sarah Jessica Parker: Style Evolution (PHOTOS)

HuffPost Social Reading

The title of Sarah Jessica Parker's new movie, "I Don't Know How She Does It," refers to her character's ability to balance career, family and well, life.

But it might also apply to the actress' chameleon-like talent for trying on an eye-popping array of trends throughout the years.

Like her "Sex and the City" alter ego, Carrie Bradshaw, Parker has never shied away from fashion risks. And while she may have donned some unfortunate ensembles before she was the sleek red-carpet sophisticate she is now, we can't say we haven't enjoyed watching her transformation.

In honor of the film's release today, we've taken a walk down memory lane, starting with some of SJP's awesomely '80s looks and ending with her Little Red Riding Hood frock at the "I Don't Know How She Does It" premiere.

Whats wrong with folks today? SJP to me is a lovely lady with great talent, but yall are throwing her to the lions with negative comments. People should be famous for their talent not their looks. What, yall think Kim Kardashian is something just b/c she is beautiful? KK has NO talent, so in my talent she isnt famous for nothing other than her sex video(Eww,Gross!)Even though I think SJP is a lovely lady inside and outside and has wonderful talent and styles, why are yall talking so bad about a actress, who is just like you and me, has flaws.

Maybe you who are negative should evaluate why you find it necessary to degrade others; is it because you are just mean? For us Sarah Jessica Parker fans, we will continue to support her and look forward to what she brings us in the future.

Wow, I cannot believe the amount of haters on this wall. SJP is funny, smart, stylish, sexy, and attractive. Are you all so perfect that you can be making such harsh statements about her? Do you have any idea the amount of charity work she does for UNICEF? What charities have you volunteered for lately? She donates her shoes to raise money for a children’s charity. She is a U.N. national ambassador. She has been nominated and won Golden Globe Awards, SAG Awards, and Emmys. She is part of a celebrity couple who has maintained a solid relationship since 1997. And she does all this while being a mother to twins. And so what if she is not deemed the most gorgeous (although I personally do think she is an attractive woman); it is not looks alone that make a person beautiful. I appreciate she takes chances with style; sometimes they are a little over top, but that is what fashion is about…trying new things and HAVING FUN, which I’m sure she does with it. I’m so glad that instead of trying to see the good in someone, you have to point out what you consider are faults for someone you do not even know. I do not normally read comments and rarely make them myself, but I could not let this one go. I am excited for her new movie and whatever future endeavors she will grace us with.

She made it cause she is a good actress. We all know it is not her looks,
02:03 PM on 09/16/2011
And thats how it should be. Look at Kim Kardashian, she is very beautiful and has NO talent, yet she is famous. So it should always be based on someones talent and NOT their looks.

While Sara Jessica is by no means pretty; her head is too big for her body and her face is too long, she has other attributes. She has pretty hair and styles it in many ways. She has a nice voice and an adorable figure,. She makes the best of what she has. You go, girl!

Why make a comment unless it is positive? I don't understand all the negative comments on these......didn't your mothers teach you, "if you don't have something nice to say, don't say it??" The woman is in her 40's! So am I, and I would LOVE to look like her, she is gorgeous! And, talented, absolutely!

She was pretty grim looking in her 20's & 30's too...that's why she had to bang everything that walked in "Sex & the City" because being slutty is the only way a chick that looks like that can get a dude...
