D&G Says Arrivederci: Clothing Line Closes (PHOTOS)

HuffPost Social Reading

Back in March, some pretty solid rumors started swirling that Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana were in talks to shutter their secondary line D&G and today the designers confirmed that they would be folding it into their luxury label, Dolce and Gabbana. At the final D&G runway show, Domenico and Stefano said in a statement to WWD that their reasoning behind the decision stemmed from their recent drive to give "even more strength and energy" to their namesake collection.

While the news isn't that surprising due to all of the previous speculation, it is shocking that they'd choose to get rid of their lower-priced line that brings in a significant amount of money to the entire Dolce and Gabbana business. Luckily though, it's clear that Domenico and Stefano aren't slowing down anytime soon and we're excited to see what they've got up their well-tailored sleeves.

Take a look at D&G's finale runway show and check out some of their best ad campaigns from past seasons.
