Serena Williams: Style Evolution (PHOTOS)

HuffPost Social Reading

There's not doubt that Serena Williams dominates the tennis courts - she's racked up 27 Grand Slam titles, two Olympic gold medals and has earned more cash money than any other female athlete in history. The only thing better than winning is looking good while doing it - and she aces it. The champ isn't one to shy away from fashion and rather than sporting tennis whites, keeps her eye on the ball in bright, ruffled and strappy ensembles.

Williams has kept things interesting with body-con catsuits, knee-high boots and controversial denim skirts on the courts, while opting for curve-hugging dresses, fun animal prints and ruching at red carpet events. As she celebrates her 29th birthday today, we're celebrating her best looks on and off the courts. Click through the gallery to see Williams' style evolution through the years.

Why do women color their hair so unnaturally? I understand the occasional highlighting or streaking by some teenagers and early 20s age women. But after a certain age, taking your hair to the abnormal is not very attractive.

Like all tennis stars before her - she too will be eclipsed. She isn't "pretty", has a huge buttocks, and arms like Mike Tyson. Her designs are vapid and certainly no one would wear them themselves on the court - let alone spend $1000 on them. She's more a "fashion don't" and will have to rely on her tennis successes to bring any "play" in her other persona's. Ride it now Serena - for in several years - if you don't follow Martina Navatilova in doubles, you too will be out of the lime light and merely - like so many others - a used to be. Ageing. It happens to all of us. Stop trying to play the young ingenue and pass gracefully into another form. Until you do this - you will be seen as a fool in the making.

"Pretty" is subjective. You may not find her attractive but many people do. And those "huge buttocks" are admired by many men and women. Again, just because you don't like it doesn't make it unattractive. I'd rather have a round booty than a flat pancake.

You sound so full of judgement and hate. It's not for you to say (or try to predict) where she will be when she stops playing tennis. I think you look foolish stating that she will be "out of the limelight entirely" considering the tremendous impact she's had on sports.

Hey "don't hate me cause I'm beautifl, now do the pretty girl rock" beauty is in the eye of the beholder and some of you creamy slick hair brothers out thier like that bootylicious look she rocking. Oh and by the way, your blonde hair sisters are paying thousands of bucks to get that buttocks like Serena and those full luscious lips that the dear Lord gave her at birth....no need for botox on this sister........so don't hate the player, hate the game! You go Serena, you ROCK!

I agree the blonde hair is not becoming, she really needs a new hair stylist; one that can blend some colors for her skin tone. Not everyone was born to be blonde.
