No one epitomizes French femininity like Brigitte Bardot. With her sexy tousled tresses and come-hither, doe eyes, the model, actress and singer is not only a '60s style icon, but one of the most beautiful women of all time.

Today, on Bardot's 77th birthday, we've rounded up some of her most memorable looks.

Happy Birthday Brigitte Bardot. But I am also wondering whatever did reporters do before they discovered
the word "iconic". It is everywhere these day and most often improperly used. There are so many other
good adjectives to describe people and events. Why is "iconic" not overused?

She had a real natural beauty about her.

Go ahead and call be crazy (my girl friend does), but there are current "beauties" that I wouldn't date (seriously, I wouldn't) even if they asked me. I'll give you a short list:
1. Cameron Diaz and Angelina Jolie (have you ever seen them without make-up and try adding another 30 years to those faces)
2. Any of the Kardashian girls
3. J. Lo
4. Paris Hilton
5. Any one from Jersey Shore

As far as the most beautiful is concerned, if you forget about behavior, personal hygiene, morals and just about everything else, I'll take Britney Spears. Ugh, I can't believe I actually said that. If you want a little older, then Catherine Zeta-Jones, Gwenyth Paltrow or Nicole Kidman. If you prefer aging gracefully, try Jane Fonda (politics aside) and Jane Pauley. In regards to ones that are no longer with us, how about a young Elizabeth Taylor, Vivien Leigh or MM? I know I have left a lot out on both sides of the fence, that will hit me as soon as I turn on a TV, but for now, it's JMHO. Wait a minute...tennis players Anna Kournikova and Maria Sharapova sure made me a fan.

Was there a point to this Confession??? Duhhh, this was supposed to be about Brigitte Bardot, not who your penis might fancy...

She is France sexiest female ever. Her beauty and her seductiveness have been unequaled. She removed herself from public eyes in her fourties or fifties to give herself fully to the cause of abused animals. She created the Brigitte Bardot Foundation that dedicates itself to the cause of neglected, abandonned and abused animals. The Foundation often takes matters to the French Court and is a well known entity there. She has my total and profound respect for not having been sucked into the "eternal youth" syndrome so prevailent here in the USA and to which so many shallow souls fall prey, often under the knife of the cosmetic surgeon . Her looks were not as important to her as her mission. May she live as long as possible to continue the good work. She is a titan in my book. If I die with no direct heirs, I will donate my estate to her foundation. Happy Birthday to you, the most beautiful person you will always be!

I think she was one of the most beautiful women in the world. And she is not just a pretty airhead, she fights for worthy causes.

She was a natural beautiful head to toe true but all the years in the sun(and seems most of these photos show her on a beach or desert)....have taken their toll....starting with the 70's photos, see all of the freckles from sun damage...before sunscreen was taken seriously for sure! I saw a recent photo of her and again, she was on a boat in the sun. So apparently she doesn't care about her looks. She still had a decent body however for her age.

Why didn't you show some now pics?????

Really, these are the best pictures of Bridgette Bardot you could come up with?

Nobody will ever be able to say anything bad about this wonderful woman. Has always been a beauty and will remain so indefinitly. Long live the Queen!

Apparently you haven't seen any current photos of her. Although I have nothing against her, she aged very badly. She looks like a 100 year-old woman!

..So what--she had the time of her life and lived the kind of life most of us can only dream about. If I had ten of her amazing years I wouldnt mind looking 100 either when I'm old.

I want to see you at 77 years old w/o any cosmetic surgery. How dare you say that about one of the MOST WONDERFUL people in the world.!!! You must be jealous you never even had the CHANCE to be as beautiful as she was and still is. You are a real sorry person.
01:56 PM on 09/28/2011
You haven't seen any recent photos of her, apparently.

She is 77 but she has NOT aged gracefully. I have a sister-in-law the same age who looks a million times better than Bridgette Bardot. Somewhere down the road Bardot decided she didn't care about her looks. I have seen RECENT photos of her, and she looks ghastly Like a 90 year old woman. This was a nice retrospective on a woman who was an icon for beauty in her day. She however has not gone the way of a Gina Lollabridgada for example.
01:54 PM on 09/28/2011
Agreed, she doesn't look good at all. Almost scary looking these days. Too bad because in her day she was a stunner.
04:26 PM on 09/28/2011
Jesus H. C.--give her a break, she is nearly 80 years old. I want to see how the rest of us look at her age and at least she didn't go the route of the idiot "stars" in this country who look like carved up turkeys, e.g., Joan Rivers, Kenny Rogers, and Cher. I say KUDOS to the woman for realizing it's a waste of money. During my youth, this woman was the epitome of sexiness and beauty and rightly so.

She is my favorite. She is the most beautiful and underrated actress. Plus she is an animal rights activist. Beautiful inside and out.

Very classy hot lady

A Classic Beauty!! "AU Natural" I have to agree with a previous post--Brigitte Bardot has CLASS! And she knew how to use it! Happy Birthday Ms Bardot!!
12:19 PM on 09/28/2011
Brigette was already a sex symbol back in the early 50's when I was born but I couldn't agree with dmgg711 more! What you didn't see or what you thought you "might" have caught a glimpse of was infinitely more erotic than todays amature gynocology photo's! Sally Rand never showed ANYTHING! She danced into her 70's and still had droves of fans. I guess I'm an old fool but as a young man it was almost comforting that women, scratch that, a LADY was just a cut above a gentleman, head and shoulders above a "man", she was the finer example of our species. This didn't mean she had to be a prude or frigid! She could be intelligent, strong, distant, yet, warm and kind, you felt good knowing her. Sorry girls but "you've come a long way baby" took women BACKWARDS, todays woman is free to be just as boorish, slobish and disgusting as her male counterpart. Take a look at the monuement to the battlefield nurses by the Viet Nam wall in Wa. DC. it brings tears to my eyes, a nurse holding the wounded soldier, another looking to the sky etc. ( well maybe a pin up girl was kinda neat too!"

For those of you who think Brigitte Bardot was not a beautiful woman, it would be YOU who need glasses. Even as a young girl I realized her striking beauty. Later in life, I realized that not only was she beatiful but she was highly intelligent and a great humanitarian which only made her beauty even more so. Women such as Brigitte didn't have show her crotch getting out of a car or go topless in a video. She had what stars of this generation severely lack and it's called "CLASS". Sensuality, sexuality..call it what you want. It's just there even fully clothed.
