Lindsey Wixson Falls At Versace Spring 2012: Milan Fashion Week (PHOTOS)

Lindsey Wixson may be one of our favorite gap-toothed models, but that's her only imperfection. The 17-year-old model, known for her plump pout and precious dimples recently took a tumble on the Versace Spring 2012 runway (an incident conveniently edited out of the show's video below). While she recovered in time to continue her catwalk, we wonder what Donatella had to say after the show.

This isn't the first time Wixson has stumbled; the Wichita, Kansas native also fell last May when walking the runway for Fashion For Relief in Cannes. Let's hope this doesn't become a pattern.

Who else has taken a trip during the Spring 2012 shows? Models at both New York and London Fashion Week had trouble in their stilettos as well. Looks like some designers are going to have to take a cue from Nicolas Ghesquiere and start creating flats...

There is no earthly reason to have girls walking around on these sky-high heels. If you are sadistic you would require that they do that. Change the rules!!

Parts of the high fashion universe are sadistic.

Mexico has been hosting their own “Little Mercedes Benz Fashion Week That Could”. By the looks of things, we can safely say that Mexico’s greatest export will remain marijuana for years to come. Well, designer goods surely won't be. http://bit.ly/qq3kEH

Gaunt bodies? Still? Why do people think this looks attractive? Health looks attractive, and this doesn't look healthy. It's like a beautiful dress hung on a wire coat hanger.
12:27 PM on 09/27/2011
I don't buy they DO think it's attractive; nor do I buy they are afraid that "healthier" female models would distract from the clothes, so they have to use models who look like hangers or blank slates....if they were sincere, then they would apply the same standard to the male models. But take a look at men shows like Dolce and Gabbana or Armani where the likes of a David Gandy, Noah Mills, or heck, all the top male models look gorgeous and healthy, like the female supermodels USED to ( when they were at least a size 4/6 as opposed to 00).......I saw a recent Armani show where they had the likes of Ben Hill and other male models walking hand in hand with these young gaunt female models and the contrast was embarrassing....why the double standard THESE days, I am at a lost.

I wish I could walk in a heel, I prefer flats, less likely to break an ankle, or bruise my ego!

A young girl trips? This is a story? Wow, you people are shallow.

Stupid designers need to get rid of those 10 inch heels.
09:31 AM on 09/27/2011
Ditto!!! Look at those god-awful clodhoppers those girls are trying to walk in!!! What will it take, a broken ankle before they put these girls into some sensible shoes?

Most of my favourite heels are 4 to 5 inches... i dont think the shoes are the problem, it´s the women who dont know how to walk in them!
01:31 AM on 09/27/2011
I have yet to see a women walk on extremely high heels and look elegant doing so. You might thing that you do, but i seriously doubt it.
02:39 PM on 09/28/2011
4 to 5 inches isn´t exactly "extremely high", heel wise.

At least the clothes look stylish and wearable for a change

Gorgeous clothes!

The shoes are ridiculous, there is not reason for anyone to wear stilletos to begin with. Just lucky they do not break their ankles. I would bet if you asked any one of the models what they thought about wearing them, they would have a few choice words.

Good heavens absolutely none of these models know how to walk properly in heels!.........they walk with stomping strides.........and each and every one has a blank or bored expressions on their faces........they must be dying for lunch time to come around!

This girls' got HUGE, GLISTENING....... brains....
01:17 AM on 09/27/2011
I cannot remember the last time I even saw a teenage girl in ANY kind of heel. The most I have ever worn is 3 inches. These look upwards of 8 or 9!!!! As far as the stomping strides, that is the "runway walk" that is pounded into their heads from the moment they are trained......nothing feminine about it, I think.

I actually don't have a problem with teenage models and boyish bodies because as one designer said - a blank slate of a body doesn't takes the focus off the girl and onto the clothes... It just seems that designers are starting to design for the clothes-hanger and not the women (presumably with real bodies) who might actually start wearing this stuff.
