Of her famous jewel collection, Elizabeth Taylor once said, "I believe that I am their custodian, here to enjoy them, to give them the best treatment in the world, to watch after their safety, and to love them." This quote, along with other gems, appears in the recently released book, Elizabeth Taylor: Her Life in Style. In addition to recounting her many romances with Stones, Taylor reveals love letters from Richard Burton and personal photographs. The book predominantly features images of her style evolution, from young star to film icon. Highlights include a photo of Taylor sharing a cigarette with David Bowie the first time they met, never - before - seen photographs from her youth and candid images of the young mother with her children.
Since her death on March 23, 2011, Taylor has remained at the forefront of style news, whether as the inspiration for Carine Roitfeld's 72-page editorial for V Magazine which starred Lara Stone, Stephanie Seymour, Kate WInslet, Carolyn Murphy and was celebrated with a ball at the Standard hotel, or as her impressive collection of diamonds is about to be auctioned off.
