Gwen Stefani Beauty Evolution (PHOTOS)

HuffPost Social Reading

Gwen Stefani may standout in a crowd with her platinum blond strands, signature bold red pout and super arched brows, but the singer turned fashion designer's most head-turning moments are when she tones it down and still manages to look glamorous.

In celebration of Stefani's 42nd birthday today (October 3), we take a "Sweet Escape" down memory lane to see how her look has evolved over the years. From beautiful bindis to neon pink hair color to Marilyn Monroe-esque curls, there are no limits to how this California girl expresses her style.

Which of the rocker mom's beauty looks do you like best? Tell us your thoughts in the comments section and learn more about Stefani's children's fashion line in collaboration with Target.

She's very attractive and seems to never age. Like the photo's when uses a lighter color for her brows, seems to soften her look, which I prefer over the dark brows, too harsh. She really chose a winner going with the light blonde/red lips look, always recognizable and I love it!

She is not pretty, but she would look better with a softer look, and get rid of that AWFUL RED LIPSTICK because your lips and teeth look ugly. I am serious. Had no idea she was 42. Really don't know much about her, but everytime I see her, all I see is red lipstick and whitish hair, ugly IMHO.

Gwen is a gorgeous woman who's not afraid to express her own style.

Technically she's not really that pretty, but she's a woman who knows how to make the most of what she's got.

Should have included some earlier photos when she began performing. Her transformation from her teenage years to her mid 20s was the most dramatic change. It could give many young girls an idea of how you can re-invent yourself.

I think shes beautiful and blessed to be able to feel free to express herself through her clothes and hair. I've always like No Doubt because their music comes over as just as much fun as they look.

I love Gweni Gwen. I would give anything to look like her - she's so beautiful. And I want to know who her hairdresser is. And what a talent. She's the whole package. Beautiful children, good looking husband and a deep abiding faith. I hope she continues making music for years to come.

I liked her better before she became a bone-thin unsmiling too-posh-to-push fashionista Stepford Wife.

Gwen is always been beautiful.

But I loved how she looked, pre-boob job, during the 'No Doubt' days.
