Sigourney Weaver: Style Evolution (PHOTOS)

HuffPost Social Reading

Sigourney Weaver (née Susan) is nicknamed the “Sci-Fi Queen” for her numerous roles in space films such as "Aliens" and "Ghostbusters," but her red carpet style is nothing, but gorgeous and glamorous. She usually dresses in floor-length, arm-bearing gowns, and Weaver also has a knack of wearing styles before they become too trendy. Case in point: the two-time Golden Globe winner has worn pajama tops, sheer looks and jumpsuits on the red carpet years before it became popular.

As Weaver celebrates her 62nd birthday this Saturday, click through the gallery to see her red carpet style evolution.

The 80's was an unfortunate decade for fashion. Maybe those years ruined her eye for what looked good on her. Also, over the several decades, there were times when she could have been in better shape. She could have chosen better styles to flatter what she had at those times.
She is a great actress and in some of these instances she looks fabulous. Others...she should have fired her stylist (or gotten one).

Are you guys blind? This woman is a great actress but she looks atrocious. She wears things that are terribley unflattering. She's decent looking but I would never say gorgeous. She's quite a plain jane, and the way she dresses does NOTHING for her! But the fact that everyone thinks she looks so amazing makes me feel pretty darn good about myself. If this lady is that beautiful then I must be frickin amazing.

What a classy lady. A few of the ensembles I didn't care for, but overall she is a classy, talented lady and VERY tall haha. My 30 year old nephew has always had a "crush" on her.

Sigorney has come a long way since Yale. I remember seeing her often around campus. She was a butterball.

That's part of life and reinforces the old visual joke about meeting someone hot at a class reunion and you just cannot place the current face with someone in your class.
