Custommade Curator: Welded Dinner Tray Table

HuffPost Social Reading

We can't say we think (or eat) on dinner trays often, but we were more than intrigued when we came across this cleverly repurposed metal table. CustomMade metalwork artisan Alex Féthière completely handcrafted this table by welding together two stainless-steel dinner trays -- which he found at a flea market in L.A. -- and then also welding them on top of a salvaged metal base. It's a creative reuse of the trays and the table top can double as easy storage and holders for remotes, books, and glasses.

I'm not a welder, but obviously the maker of this "table" isn't either!

You guys are so mean! It's not THAT ugly.....all it needs is a piece of old splintery wood on top and some duct tape.....maybe an old broken metal blender with some dead branches sticking out of it for a centerpiece. Someone on E-Bay will pay a fortune for it!

Ummmmmmmmm............OK, I get the recycling part. But does it have to be butt ugly?

I agree, the weld looks like gilded bubblegum! Who's bright idea was this as a showcase piece?

Oh, Is that weld? Looks like bubble gum applied with a slingshot....
