Guggenheim Museum Launches Paint Collections
The world-renowned Guggenheim Museum in New York has teamed up with Fine Paints of Europe to create two collections of painterly colors. The first collection, Classical Colors, has 150 different shades that are drawn from the exquisite paintings by modern masters in the Guggenheim's permanent collection. A second Gallery Colors collection is comprised of 50 hues favored by generations of curators for the museum's walls.
We love the backstory behind both the collections and we're mesmerized by all the splendid colors, which range from the lively yellow of Franz Marc's Stables (1913) to the soft blue-gray found in the sky of Van Gogh's Mountains at Saint-Remy (1889). An added bonus, the paints are all fine-tuned for a variety of architectural settings and lighting situations.
