Freida Pinto: Style Evolution (PHOTOS)

HuffPost Social Reading

Models who branch out into acting don’t always make it to the big screen, but Freida Pinto smashed the box offices in 2008 when she starred in "Slumdog Millionaire." The Indian-born actress modeled for Wrigley’s Chewing Gum, Vodafone and DeBeers before making the move to acting. Since her award-winning performance in the Oscar winning flick, Pinto has sat front row at fashion shows such as Chanel and Burberry, became a spokesperson for L'Oréal Paris and has starred in other films like Woody Allen’s “You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger” and the recent summer blockbuster ““Rise of Planet of the Apes.”

While her on-screen characters are far from glamorous, Pinto favors feminine frocks with ruffles, full skirts and pastel colors, but she occasionally shows off her pins with short and body-conscious dresses numbers. Natural, wavy tresses and light makeup complete her effortless looks. While she celebrates her 27th birthday today with her longtime boyfriend Dev Patel, check out the gallery below as we celebrate her best red carpet looks.

Meanwhile, what do you think of Pinto's eye-catching accessories?

She seems attractive, but I wouldn't say gorgeous.

I'm sure she would think I am ugly, but everything is relative...

I'm just gonna put it out there and you all can hate on me all you want.... but she's definitely gorgeous for an Indian girl. Sorry... I just don't see many good looking Indians, at least not what I consider good looking...

I find Freida Pinto to be pretty, but BLAND! She is boring and has a horrible shape. Pretty but not attractive.

Common? Whoa. I live in CA where it's filled with pretty women and this is not common to me. Texas you say? Wow. Nice place to live if your a single man who like ridiculously hot women.

Lol. Maybe it's because I live in El Paso, the city voted to have the ugliest men in the USA. In comparison, the women look great:) I don't include myself in with all the gorgeous women...
