Julia Roberts: Style Evolution (PHOTOS)

HuffPost Social Reading

We’ve always been fans of women in suits, but when Julia Roberts wears them, it’s a whole new ball game. The Academy Award-winning actress has worn suits of all sorts -- wide leg, tailored, short, striped and our personal favorite, with big shoulder pads. But that’s not to say that she doesn’t reach for slinky gowns every now and then.

Roberts keeps things simple with wavy, unfussy locks, natural makeup and a bright smile. She turns 44-years-old this Friday, so check out the gallery below to see why this pretty woman was named People magazine's "50 Most Beautiful People in the World" eleven times. (We’ve never even made it once.)

We wonder how much the Ivana gowns would bring in an auction featuring a company of manikins each wearing one of her dresses! Her dad could buy enough land to build another Taj Mahal no doubt! Roland C. Woodaka

I disagree. She's still ugly or, at least, freaking goofy-looking.

How can someone as beautiful as Julia Roberts make so many fashion blunders? She goes from looking ravishing in half the photos but dumb looking in the 1990 baggy men's suit; sleazy looking in the 1999 shiny red dress; mis-matched looking in the 2001 frilly bed jacket over casual two-tone black pants and top; ridiculous in the 2002 over long cuffed sleeves; dumpy looking in the 2004 dress and hair style; "Ugh!" those shoes in 2006 and that dress! that hair style!; and totally lost in the silly looking over-large white pants suit. She definitely needs someone who has a clue choosing her outfits.

Oh shutup... her style of dress fit each era accordingly. Kept it classy. Beats the he** out of what the hollyweird fashion victims are wearing now.

You posters all seem to hate her, why the heck are you clicking on an article about her?? Jealous much?
10:37 AM on 10/28/2011
I like to know who is doing the polling about her being attractive, Myself and all the guys I know think she looks like a horse. Yuck.

Yeah sure, mktmaven...And "yourself and the guys you know" are so *HOT* that you are swarmed with the classiest supermodels, I'm sure Julia Roberts would be all over you. lmao

Put all together she is appealing. Taken apart her mouth is huge, her nose like pannocio and her eyes beety. She must have a closet full of wigs. I have never seen anyone have so many different hair lengths, syles, texture and colors.

Her eyes are beety? What does that mean? Does it mean that they are dark red?

To each there own...I happen to like her...some of her movies have been really good, others might have missed the mark...but I still like her. She's also a great mother to her three children. I do agree that she could use a stylist to help with some of the clothing choices...but no matter what I like her, like her hair when it's red, will continue to see her movies.
