Tara Reid: Style Evolution (PHOTOS)

HuffPost Social Reading

I admit that in the 1990s and early 2000s, I tried out a few of Tara Reid’s revealing outfits -- backless dresses, torso-bearing tops and hip-hugging bottoms. Thankfully, we both grew out of that stage, and the controversial starlet began wearing flattering gowns and elegant ensembles. Whew!

Click through the gallery to see Reid’s style evolution as the actress celebrates her 36th birthday this Tuesday.

And have a look through our many other Style Evolutions here.

Tara Reid is not a bad looking woman. However, she is only a marginal actress at best. With all the , beautiful actresses and women out in California why is Tara even relevant? I personally don't know what, if anything, she has done in recent years to still be generating some kind of celebrity status? I would think she should have fallen off the radar years ago.

The familiar HuffPost "teaser"-type headline reaches again for the slightly prurient, with its all-too-familiar "Tara Sparkled in Barely-There Top." I enjoy seeing women in beautiful dresses, but the constant focus on "low-cut" and "lots of leg" and "she shocks" and "daring" is demeaning to the women involved and insulting to your audience. How about swearing off the appeal to sex for a month and going with "style" and "line" and "beautiful" and "clever" and "flattering" and "dignified" and maybe even "fun"? See how many hits you get that way. If readership declines, I'll be surprised (okay, I'll be dismayed too, but why not try it out?).
