Hedy Lamarr: Style Evolution (PHOTOS)

HuffPost Social Reading

Hedy Lamarr’s curves, defined brows and full lips made her an A-list star (and pinup favorite) in the 1930's and 40's.

In honor of Lamarr’s birthday this Wednesday, we’re taking a look back at the late actress’ best ensembles on and off the silver screen.

And have a look through our many other Style Evolutions here.

She was a beautiful women I use to love to watch her movie with my mom who has since passed. I those days women were glamourous with Class! I wish today young Hollywood would realize that Class is much more attractive then Trash.

Hedy Lamarr came from an era of true elegance and grace that is lacking in today's fashion and entertainment world.

Was she related to Hedley Lamarr?
01:10 PM on 11/11/2011
Perhaps someone else has mentioned this, but shame on the Huffpost for posting a ton of photos showcasing the way she looked, but not mentioning how intelligent she was--she co-invented an early technique for spread spectrum communications and frequency hopping, one of the essential building blocks of our modern communication system.

Hedy comes from the greatest era of the silverscreen. She was beautiful, brilliant and looked like she was from another worls almost.I adore her.

So sad: The titles that led to the slide show misspelled her last name. At least, the show itself got it right. There's something wrong with how we're taught to spell -- we somehow fail to be aware of doubled final consonants in names -- such as Lamarr, Kellogg, Marriott, Buffett, Burnett, Breathitt, Plunkett, etc.

My grandmother looked just like her. People use to stop her on the street thinking she was Heddy! I have all of my grandmothers pictures and #2 especially, is a twin of my grandmother.

Just a little bit of Comic Book trivia. Hedy Lamarr & Jean Harlow were the inspiration to Bob Kane when he created the Batman character Selina Kyle (aka "Catwoman").
