Sonia Rykiel-Inspired DIY Nail Art

Considering that it turns dark at 5 p.m., I rarely get to experience the gorgeous fall sunset. Thank you, Daylight Saving Time. But I may have discovered a cool way to seize the sun.
Influenced by the feminine pieces dipped in blazing shades of yellow, fuchsia and orange from Sonia Rykiel's Spring 2012 collection, Miss Ladyfinger blogger Taryn Multack perfected this colorful nail art.
The warm tones merge seamlessly, while the black stripe adds an unexpected juxtaposition similar to Rykiel's dress pictured above.
Multack shares with Stylelist how to take this look from the runway to your digits:
1. Paint on one generous stroke of purple nail polish to the side of your nail.
2. Very quickly and lightly, apply a strip of orange lacquer being sure to blend with the purple shade.
3. Then apply a yellow line of polish. Repeat steps 1 and 2 with the orange and yellow polishes.
4. Once dry, use a black nail art pen or thin nail art brush to apply a black line to complete the look.
