Twiggy Modeling Pictures, 1967: A Look Back

HuffPost Social Reading

"A Look Back" is a daily column that highlights a moment from fashion's fabulous past. Today's pick is a photo of model Twiggy posing for a portrait during the filming of "Twiggy in Hollywood," in 1967. The three-episode documentary series was shot by photographer Bert Stern in Los Angeles, California. This may be one of our favorite photos of the iconic Brit yet!

Never cared for Twiggy and she was a headliner in my day.

Twiggy appears to have swollen finger joints in that photo...perhaps from a lack of calcium and food. That is true what people say about models now being that skinny. Back then, the models tended to be a little plumper like Cybil Shepherd etc.

Interesting that Twiggy was considered "ultrathin" back then, but pretty much all models are expected to be that thin now...

I think Twiggy looks better these days than she did then. To me, she was awfully WAY too thin. I think when she made the modeling scene, I think that's when eating disorders became popular among girls and women who wanted to look like her.

I give Twiggy the most improved model award (next to Christie Brinkley who keeps getting better looking). She does not seem to have had all the plastic surgery either unless she has me fooled.
