'Advanced Style' Book By Ari Seth Cohen: A Sneak Peek (PHOTOS)

HuffPost Social Reading

The Stylelist Blogger Network is a treasure trove of inspiration -- every day we learn something new from our members. Whether it's how to wear makeup with glasses or what Chris Benz's closet looks like, these bloggers are trendsetters and pioneers in their fields.

But it's Ari Seth Cohen of Advanced Style whose blog is unlike any other we've seen. It's street style for the senior set -- each of his subjects is over 50 years old and believes that age shouldn't limit style.

Ari's new book "Advanced Style" is available for pre-order on Amazon.com and is a great gift for the fashionista in your family, no matter what their age! (Plus, the women offer pearls of wisdom on everything from style to aging to life, like "In your body is a good place to be." and "Don't worry about geting older, every era builds character." and an amazing interview between Dita Von Teese and 91-year-old Ilona Royce Smithkin.)

Click through the slideshow below for an exclusive look at some of the images which will fill the pages of this tome and head over to Advanced Style see even more photographs.

Thank you for this! I am 62 and take great pride in my eclectic fashion style, from my leopard-skin fedora to the black riding boots. I always admire older men and women who look smashing on the street and say "looking good, girlfriend" or boyfriend as the case may be. Sometimes the men outshine the women. Huzzah for Old Age!!!!

OMG, ladies - thank you so much for looking so awesome!

I'm not altogether unhappy with the way I'm aging at all. It has loads of advantages over being 20 again and if Americans can accept the idea that older can be still beautiful and chic, life will get much happier for women in this country.

They appreciate us in Europe. And these pictures ought to tell people why they do - there is beauty after 50, after 60, after 90, after 100 -

In the first place, 50's is middle age. Elderly is 80!! and only if you want to be "elderly".
The chic New Yorkers, like Carmen, are mostly over 50 and onward.
These ladies are eccentrics~~~and more power to them~~~but they aren't representative for the most part of the Elegant Older Woman, who probably was once a stylish, trendy Young Woman, who knew how to dress for the occasion~~~in something other than skinny jeans!!

Most look like bag ladies! When you reach that certain age, less is more. Garish fabrics seem to accentuate flaws and ladies, you passed the "cute" stage long ago. Elegance and class is what you need to go for. Two, standing against a wall, looked like those optical illusion things. I almost got dizzy.

Some grannies wear so much make-up that they look like circus clowns. Tammy Fay Baker must have been their role model.

lets not glamorize age it is what is and it aint pleasant for men either

TO: BETH24: Your going to get old too so don't knock it. Why not glamorize it? Why settle in the rut that when you get old you can't do this or you can't do that? Also, there is a difference between men and gentlemen and not all men are alike. I am confident that there are men who like this. Different strokes for different folks. Stay positive. Life is what you make it at any age. Lighten up.

Some of these women look absolutely stunning and beautiful; however, some of them look like a walking crayon box and while the outfits are bright, they certainly shouldn't be called fashionable. Because an outfit is bright and catches your eye, most people are inclined to call it stylish without really examining the fashion sense.

Miles on The Golden Girls said it best: "When you're beautiful young, you're a freak of nature... but when you're beautiful old-- baby, you've earned it!" These older ladies are STUNNING! I hope I am that pretty when I am all growed up ;)
