Glitter DIY Nail Art

I can barely muster up enough energy to revive my manicure after overindulging in home-cooked meals this Thanksgiving. Luckily, I've discovered DIY glitter nail art that looks super sophisticated but is really simple to achieve.
While visiting family and friends during the holiday, Kelsey of the blog Nails in the City, perfected these dazzling digits that instantly reminded me of the gilded eye makeup from Jason Wu's fall 2011 fashion show (pictured above). Isn't it gorgeous?
To recreate this look, apply two coats of Sinful Colors What's Your Name (a blue-black lacquer). Then brush on OPI Spark de Triomphe (silver and gold glitter nail polish), piling it on at the tips and blending softly towards the nail bed. For added shine, seal with a glossy top coat like Essie Good to Go.
What do you think about this glitter manicure? I think it's a quick way to hide chipped nails -- a tried-and-true beauty trick Stylelist Associate Editor Sarah St. Lifer swears by.
