Lauren Bacall's Style From The 1940's

HuffPost Social Reading

"A Look Back" is a daily column that highlights a moment from fashion's fabulous past. Today's pick is of American actress Lauren Bacall in a studio portrait from 1944. I can't decide which I love more: her coral lipstick or her sequinned top?

Lauren Bacall looks so fabulous. The pic looks like it was taken for a modern magazine--shows you that good style is timeless.

Such class those 1940's gals had, without the extreme or no plastic surgery. Sadly all that is gone. Stars today are lack-luster and are a dime-a-dozen.

I think Lauren Bacall still wears her hair in that same style. It is a classic one.

I love the 1940s! I wish the suits and fedoras would return to style. I also love the dresses, red lipstick, and hair parted on the side look the women used to do.
