Courtney Love Faces Eviction From New York Townhouse

Courtney Love is will soon be back in court.

The 47-year-old rocker is being evicted from her townhouse at 250 West 10th Street, "after she set it on fire and 'ruined' its decor," reports Page Six.

The singer who fronts the band Hole, has been renting the $27,000 per month, four-story West Village building for the last 10 months.

Page Six reports the building's owner Donna Lyon claims Love owes her more than $50,000 in rent, has caused damage to the property and violated the lease by ruining its interior, which was decorated by the previous owner, interior designer Steven Gambrel,

Lyon told the paper she learned about the changes to the historic building, which she purchased for $8 million, when she had photographs taken in preparation to sell the house. "I came to New York to see it and I was horrified by what [Love] had done. The walls that had been hand-painted and glazed were ruined, covered in damask wallpaper and ice-blue paint," she explained.

In June, the New York Times reported that the small fire that broke out in the forth-floor bedroom of Love's townhouse, was likely caused by a candle next to the curtains.

Love had previously attracted attention to the home a few months before the fire, when neighbors noticed she never seemed to turn the lights off -- noting that even at 4 a.m. every room in the house had a light on.

Lyon told Page Six in addition to the $54,000 Love owes in rent, she says it could cost up to $100,000 to repair the damage. A court date has been set for Dec. 21 in Manhattan's civil court.
