Better yet, skip the box stores and shop at your locally owned stores.

When I worked I spent decades in various aspects of Retail Sales. I worked for a lot of different companies both large and small. All of these companies sold goods that would be considered gift items for Holidays. In every one of these companies like clock work business would drop dead at 3:00PM the day before Christmas.

I guess Christmas Eve isn't considered a Holiday any longer!

That is because we don't care about the other guy. So he doesn't get time to spend Christmas Eve with his kids. So they have to work Christmas Day or go to work at 9 pm on Thanksgiving. No one cares. Sure as hell the owners and bosses are sitting home enjoying the holiday but as usual the little guy gets SCREWED.
